Re: Mortal Kombat
Achievements like that have always been dumb and a waste of time.
Local tournaments are where its at for fighting games. You don't need to go to some big event like EVO. Just check out your local arcades and game shops.
The tournament section and regional forums on testyourmight are good places to look if you don't have anything around locally. They might have places within driving distance or only an hour or two away from you if there's nothing locally.
I found out about that arcade 45 minutes away from me that ran the Midwest Champions tournament a month or so ago, and I didn't even know it existed before I looked it up on testyourmight.Last edited by jyoung; 08-01-2011, 03:45 PM.Comment

Re: Mortal Kombat
I'm a trophy fiend. I could care less about tournaments, let alone driving out of my way to get to one.If I'm driving over an hour somewhere I'm headed to a beach.
Although I did see an old video game shop here is hosting a mini tourney next weekend...hmmmOriginally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Mortal Kombat
Do it!
I'm all about the thrill of live competition.
Playing random dudes on the Internet is fun for laughs, but nothing beats playing people face-to-face, man-to-man, where you might actually get a handshake at the end of the game instead of some kid saying he "pwned" you or idiots quitting before you can pull off a fatality then sending you a message saying you're a "cheap spammer."Comment
