Re: Mortal Kombat
SpoilerI did that and it showed the damage they get.
So three things I still can't figure out.
1. How to pick stages for fights.
2. How to use alternate versions of fighters.
3. I don't remember seeing it on the screen, but when do you input the kombat kodes you unlock in the krypt?
2) When you choose a fighter, press start instead of x
3) I think you can only put those codes in, in a multi player fight and at the bottom of the screen there are 6 boxes to plug the code inComment

#2 you have to go to the necropolis first and equip the alt costume to the char before you hit start to select it.

Re: Mortal Kombat
I just played my first online match with a friend and it was just like the good ol' days of MK. The lag was barely noticeable. I'd imagine the King of the Hill mode might run worse, but regular private matches seem to run fine.
I was just looking over the Krypt unlocks at Gamefaqs and it's amazing how much stuff they packed into this game. I haven't even started arcade mode or the challenge tower yet!
If you have a Toys R US nearby and don't pick it up for $30 this week, you are missing out big time.
I'd have to go all the way back to the original Smash Bros. on the N64 to find a fighter that I've had this much fun with. Though all of my friends and I pretty much stopped playing fighters when the only games you could play in arcades were crap like Tekken and Soul Calibur.
This is definitely my Game Of The Year so far. Just pulled off my first two fatalities with my boys Stryker and Raiden and they are sick!Comment

Re: Mortal Kombat
Ah, come on now. I love Tekken and Soul Calibur. The original SC is the best fighting game since its time.Comment

Re: Mortal Kombat
The thing I loved about both those series over MK, was the fluidity of moves. There were so many times you'd see a fight or be involved in a fight so fluid and back n forth, it almost felt choreographed. Reversals, blocks, combos, etc.. It all flowed together if you got two good fighters on the sticks.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Mortal Kombat
I will give Tekken some props for having a kangaroo, panda bear, and wood stump as characters, but the actual fighting in that game was dull as dirt.
Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast is probably the pinnacle of 3D fighters, but that's kind of like being valedictorian at a Mississippi public school.Comment

Re: Mortal Kombat
does every character have a standing launcher?
also for any Jade users: staff overhead (down back triangle), back + triangle, X-Ray
simple combo that does over 40% damage..Comment
