    Re: Mortal Kombat

I had some great King of The Hill matches last night with Maroon Haze and 2 of his friends. Finally got the 10 win-streak achievement!

I'm pretty decent at using the basic attacks and special moves now, but I still suck at combos since those take actual practice to learn.

My best guys right now are:

    Raiden
    Stryker
    Nightwolf
    Liu Kang

But I like to do random select online to keep it fresh. Hit me up for some games if you see me on.

Jax is really tough in the right hands. IMO, he didn't need a buff.

Seriously. I said a while back, I never liked Jax in the old MK games. Almost never used him. In this game? Jax is a beast if you know how to use him.

Not s much of a buff I guess....

if anything, I just wish they would speed up the ground pound back to how it was....it has to be the slowest move in the game...

hes already limitd as far as combos...

I win matches with him, but I feel he could use some improvements..

Ground pound has to have some disadvantage considering it leaves the enemy wide open for a juggle combo whenever it hits.

I think Jax is fine as-is. His dash punch is one of the best dash attacks in the game. His projectiles are good. He has extra throws that other characters don't have and is real strong on offense and defense.

I would even take the gotcha grab as an actal throw but its blockable...

Meh, its just some observations/ frustrations from playing with him...

I agree the flying punch is a beast though...

Fighting Kung Lao is the most frustrating thing ever.

He is the only character with everything multiple times.

Like his tele, why is he the only one with 3 different tele as well as one of the fastest in the game. You block high and he does a tele grab your done, you block low and he does a tele overhead your hit.

Same thing with his hat throws. He has a bouncing hat throw, a medium hat throw, a low hat throw, a hat throw that continues hitting like kitanna's fans and a bouncing hat throw.

Flying kick that he can nail you twice on as well as a spin that is lightning quick.

His movement and power are good as well.

                  I mean WTF?

                  /end rant

Just had to get that off my chest. I use smoke a lot and Jax occasionally.

This may sound bad but what do they mean by smoke OTG?

                  Sent from me, duh.

OTG means on the ground which means the attack hits people that are grounded.

Yeah, it takes very precise timing, but if you air throw them low to the ground with Smoke you can hit them with a smoke bomb while they are still lying on the ground.

He's pretty much the best character by a mile. The dude who won the big Mortal Kombat tournament used Kung Lao.

I finally conquered the challenge tower.

Man some of those were hard as heck.

Now I can actually fight with some of the characters. Up until now I have played and finished story mode and the tower. That was lots of fun.

You're a better man than I am. The only 1-player option I finished was Story Mode. I tried a few Challenge Tower missions and I almost smashed the controller. I can't take the typical cheap MK CPU opponent. It's why the series has always been more fun in 2-player.

Most of the high level players rarely do fatalities from all the tourney play that I've seen. Either just saving time or maybe they want to save it for the final win in a match.
