    Ni No Kuni(PS3)

This is the Level 5/Studio Ghibli game that's coming out for DS but they recently announced that it's coming to the ps3. I have no idea what Level 5 games are like but since Studio Ghibli is involved, I'll have it on day 1.

You may remember Ninokuni, developped by Level 5 with the support of the famous Studio Ghibli, well the great news is that the game, or at least a game with the same name, will also be released on the PS3! Here is the first trailer, and needless to say it's rather awesome.

    Beautiful!

Unless I'm mixing up my developers, Level 5 is behind Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, and White Knight Chronicles.

And Professor Layton on the DS as well as making Dragon Quest 9 for the DS.

They are a pretty good company.

3 off-screen gameplay videos from TGS. Looks so good in motion.

Here we are finally at the Tokyo Games Show, with one of my favorite games announced lately: Ninokuni on the PS3, developped by Level 5 with Studio Ghibli. A first gameplay video is available, with much more to come. Update 4: I just realized I has missed the map part of the video, so here it is, and it's beautiful. We should be able to go back and record it again with this time someone explaining the game mechanics in English.

Coming to North America "early 2012"

While Japan will be getting the PS3 version of the Level-5 and Studio Ghibli RPG collaboration known as Ninokuni on November 17, no one knew whether an English version would be made. RPG fans and Studio Ghibli enthusiasts can now rejoice as Ninokuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joou (subtitled "Queen of the White Ashes") for the PS3 will be out in North America in early 2012.

During the Sony Computer Entertainment Asia press conference on September 16 held near Tokyo Game Show 2011's venue, Level-5 president Akihiro Hino mentioned during an interview panel that an English version of the game is in production right now as well as announced the above release window of the title. This PS3 version of the game starts off the same as the DS version, but the story is told differently after the game's midpoint. According to Hino, the PS3 will have additional story content that will pick off where the DS version ended.

Kotaku: Ni No Kuni’s Gameplay Footage Shows Why This is TGS’ Best-Looking Game

Just in case you didn't believe me that upcoming RPG Ni No Kuni looks **** hot, here's a ton of gameplay footage shot from the floor of this year's Tokyo Game Show.

Seeing as I was within arm's reach of three demo kiosks, you'll find pretty much all the content available in this build of the game, from world map wandering to town exploration to combat.

                    1UP Preview

As before, it's still a very simple RPG, clearly aimed at a mass audience rather than hardcore role-playing fans; but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Imagine if Dragon Quest or Pokémon had been developed for high-definition systems and you're on the right track. Since those series seem content to stick to the world of low-resolution visuals, Ni No Kuni is picking up the slack.
The other portion of the demo was more interesting in terms of giving a better sense of perspective on the overall adventure. The in-close camera of last year's forest portion of the game is pulled back and upward to show a vast overworld for the hero and his friends (one that remains mercifully free of random encounters). Soon, the party acquires a boat and goes out for a sail. In short, it's very much a classic, old-school RPG in the 16/32-bit tradition. Unlike the Final Fantasies and Suikodens of yore, though, Ni No Kuni drips with lavish detail at every turn. It may not be the most inventive RPG ever made, but it could well be the prettiest.

This is a first for Studio Ghibli, right? I know all about their animation projects, but video games?

In any event, that trailer is giving me a serious Dragon Quest VIII vibe (Not surprising since Level 5 made that one too). Do want, and I'm glad it's coming stateside.

Seeing that is coming over to NA leaves me even more upset that Tales of Xillia (and I would assume any further Tales of game) is Japan only.

It's just probably going to take a while, PS3 port of Graces is coming next year, so Xillia will probably be 2013.
