Yet that is exactly what they do.

but if too many people take advantage I can see them ruining it for everyone. this is a great deal for those games that me (or my step-son) are not sure about yet.
There is no 3 time rule being enforced. Again I have been doing it for YEARS. Search the threads and you'll find previous discussions on the same thing from a year ago or more. I bet you the keepers far outweigh the people that return the games.

      Not true.

However, it is possible for the store manager to refuse returns if they notice you doing it constantly.

eh...is this a new system? I worked there for 2 years and we never had anything like that. Nothing that popped up immediately in the transaction anyway. Would need to go deeper into the system and manually pull up an edge card number to get transaction history like that.

Of course if you're just constantly buying/returning it will show on the receipt.

WAY back in the day (mid 90's), that same policy was applied to new games as well. It lasted about 3-4 years before they pulled the plug on that one. I used to use it all the time. It made buying a new game (before downloadable demos and massive amounts of internet pre-release info) less risky. I was sad to see the policy go by the wayside, but I have used it often for the used games as well.

It has never been an issue as long as I can remember. Also unless they change the written policy (I don't remember if receipt says "returns subject to approval" or anything, there's no way they can refuse to take a used game back within 7 days. Again I've done it many times and went back to the store twice on the same day. No issues.

Yep when it was called Sotware Etc they also took new ones back. Like you said it didn't last long. I still wish EB was in used PC game market...

Re: Gamestop 7 day used game returns...

I used to do this sometimes, maybe one or two returns a year. I was only a sports gamer at the time, but if I saw a game get great reviews I bought it used at gamestop knowing I had the power to return it. It took me a whole 2 days to decide that I hated halo 2, and this system is the main reason I bought Prince of Persia Sands of time, and that ended up being my favorite game last gen.

Yeah you're absolutely right. In the 2 years I worked there I saw people taking advantage of it all the time. I do as well to a degree, but I try not to do it too much.

What about if I buy a used game return it within 7 days then a couple weeks later I want to try that game again so I buy it used...is that possible?

                      Yep.....
As an example. I always get the itch to play FB right before the new games come out. So I'll go back in and but last years game used. Play it until close to the 7 days.. return it. Next day or so (Or same day in different store) I'll rebuy it. Rinse repeat until close to new game release. Then I just put the $ on the new game.

Now to be fair I spend lots of $ at their store and they pretty much lnow me and I do consider a couple of them my friends...

That doesn't change the fact that it's their policy and not mine. lol
