    Re: Battlefield 3

Another poster here who appreciates TDM being a choice in BF3 this year.

I like it...it's a nice alternative from the objective modes, plus I can still resupply my team.

It's also a good way to bolster my crappy k/d since I'm a support guy

It sounds like you all weren't communicating with him. If that's the case it wouldn't make much difference anyway. Mortars are great if you know what your guys are doing, especially when you're using smoke.

        Re: Battlefield 3

I'm a little new to BF (played some BC2 and 1942) after much frustration with COD teabaggers.

I absolutely love it. The map degradation is awesome. Choke points are awesome. Tactics are awesome. However, I do have some questions/complaints that may have already been addressed.

I've played about 4 hours of Quick Play. Every match but one has been Conquest. Is this by design? I remember Battlefield Vietnam mixed in Rush much more.

Also, does anyone else have a problem with spawning and instantly being killed? I don't know if it is due to spawn campers or what, but we should have at least a few seconds of invulnerability.

Either way, game is sweet, and my complaints are minor. I will say, however, I wish I would stop getting shot in the back so much.
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were, but Im not gonna sit and yell at player to move the whole match when he either can't hear us or whatever the case. He wasn't of any help at all after the spawn objectives were completed. Only time he moved was right when our last ticket was spent when he got hit by another mortar shot. I think it was justice served. But still completely pointless and annoying.

            Re: Battlefield 3

I played 3 games last night where I went a combined 1-2, but I felt like I really helped the team win by spotting everyone win the MAV. When everyone knows exactly where the opposition is, it makes it easy to defend the objective.

Then in the 4th game my MAV was shot down pretty early, so I went to sniping and spotting and was able to pick off guys defending the last 4 MCOMs which lead to the win.

I mean, I know I didn't contribute much to actually defending/attacking the MCOM, but I know I was a big part in helping the other guys.

There was a dude in a helicopter at one point and he must've racked up like 20 or so kills in a row with my help by spotting and me telling him where guys were.

What are you guys' opinions on my strategy?

Agreed. I like it when the Recon guys actually do what they are made for which is recon.

Overall, how is this game? Is it worth getting for online play? Console or PC? I used to play the BF 2 demo a while back and I enjoyed it and that was the demo! I played the full BF 2 a little but didn't really get too into it.

I like it. I am of the opinion that enough people spot enemies in this game, so it's good that you do. Like you said, when you know where the opposition is, the games become easier. Everyone has their roles and as a Recon class, you are doing what you're supposed to.

It's a very helpful strategy when you got a team that pays attention to there HuDs...I literally spent one whole match spotting racking up 1000 pts with my MAV only to see my guys having the opposite team run right on them and a kill my teammates and most just running right by the enemy after I spotted them...I guess they thought they we're shooting at them so they just sat/ran away when they saw the red light up on the HUD, but i dont know.

But is great to have one guy on the team willing to sit back with the MAV, u know you can destroy enemy MAVs and spawn and UGS equipment? Just spot them and keep the dot on them until is locks on and ur MAV destroys them. Helps when your trying to find a enemy spawn point in rush that behind your deployment(Operation Metro)

We're on pg 387 for this game thread, good sign

I can say that I love this game, especially the MP aspects. It's slower-paced and more tactical than COD (no dis to COD, I like it very much for what it offers too).

Focus is on team work, not lone-wolf, KDR boosters. Online component is largely objective based, Rush and Conquest. TDM is in this year as well and I think it's a lot of fun the way they do it.

PC vs console....I have it on 360 and love it. I just prefer to play this kind of game on my tv system. Can't comment on PC except that if you have the horses it supposedly looks INCREDIBLE. Sound on all platforms is flat out the best I've heard in a videogame.

I have BF2 as well, but this game is much more fun online, IMO. I think the campaign in BF2 might have been better than BF3, but 3's is still pretty good.

Overall, I really recommend it if you're looking for a change of pace from COD games. I think it works great as an alternative choice if you want to own both MW3 and BF3.

Flashlights are lame, and only half of the included maps are actually good, but this is still a nice sequel to Battlefield 2 (PC).

Looking forward to the Karkand expansion so I don't have to play some of these weak maps.

Speaking of tac lights, why is everyone running around outside with the lights on? Talk about giving away your position, lol.
