Re: Battlefield 3
I'm going to have to give Rush a shot soon. Just getting so used to conquest that I'm scared to switch over. lol
Is there a reason that people don't use the little flying recon bot?
I just unlocked it and used it. I was having a gay old time (pause) just spotting the opposition from up above. I honestly don't know how beneficial it really was. But it seemed like it helped my team to pick the opposition off left and right.
I had one kill but 1000+ points just from spotting. That's without capturing a flag. I literally stayed in the base almost the whole time while my recon bot did the spotting. I got my one kill after my bot was taken out by a choppers missile. lolComment

Re: Battlefield 3
Only thing I enjoy is conquest. Possibly because the last FPS I played was BF2, and so I haven't played anything but conquest on a regular basis, but rush just isn't as fun to me. I'll occasionally hop into a rush round if I see an OS'er in it, but I normally remember quickly why I don't play it.Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
This game has absolutely consumed my life,so much so in fact I had to make myself take a break to get some time with UC3 (fantastic game btw)
I'm getting use to the heli controls (legacy for the win) and playing conquest only, this game is pure win.
I like conquest the most right now (as well as my platoon) as has mentioned we enjoy the various battles that happen all across the battlefield instead of having one main focal point as in rush.
If I had to pick a map as my least favorite,I would have to say Seine crossing,oh yea and Operation Metro....after coming from Operation Firestorm,Kharg Island or Caspian Border....I feel so "bottled up" and confined that I can't stand it.
In my playtime so far,I would give this game a solid 9 (imo)...the only thing holding back the PS3 version is the choppy voip issues.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Thinking about buying BF3 since i wasnt really enjoying Skyrim(I will give it another go!)...Last FPS shooter i played was crysis 2 i did enjoy it tho i know some people didn't...I never really got into COD Multiplayer, i enjoy the campaigns for a challenge!...

Re: Battlefield 3
I was playing some Conquest on Siene Crossing and my squad was trying to capture a flag (I can't remember what letter, it's just the one in the middle by the street). I spot a guy up in a window reigning down RPG rounds on our squad as we try to move up the steps, so I drop some smoke around the flag and haul *** around the corner and into the building he's in to try to take him down as my squad moved onto the flag. I get behind him and knife him and I get the kill, then it's like my character fell through the floor and was free falling. It even gave me the option to deploy a parachute and then it started counting down as if I was out of bounds.. very weird glitch.Comment

Online has leveling (ranks) and also unlocks weapons depending on what class you decide to play at the time, you can't use any gun with any class unless its the universal one.Aaron

Re: Battlefield 3
Well I just played the best pilot in the world. This guy was insane. We would fly by each other and literally within 5 seconds he was directly behind me. He made the jets look so easy to fly I didn't understand it. It was so frustrating. I was in a Flanker-E, the least agile plane in the entire world and he was in whatever the other team has in Operation Firestorm and he was looking as agile as the Frogfoot x 5,000.
Seriously, I have no clue how this guy stayed behind me like he did. I was fooling myself with some of the moves I made, but they didn't fool him. I did a barrel roll into a half turn, then did half a back-flip, turned mid air, banked left, then down, then right real quick and was right back were I started, but he was on my tail the whole time. It made absolutely no sense how he could have kept up with me.
I turned on the radar that shows air vehicles and his jet would go from < to ^ in an instant. We would fly by each other like this >< and the next thing I know he is disabling my jet and then destroying it in one machine gun burst. I've seen good pilots before, and I'd say I am a pretty good pilot, but this guy was either a pilot god or cheating, though I don't really know how he was cheating and I've never been one to really call anyone a cheater in FPS games because I know they really aren't as prevalent as people make them out to be, but this guys just was doing moves that should be impossible to do. I would go from chasing him to being shot down all in under 10 seconds.
Guy was a heck of a pilot and I really am jealous and don't like him at all.

Re: Battlefield 3
After extensive time with MW3 I have to say BF3 is the primo game for me this year. BF3 requires actual strategy and teamwork whereareas the other is just camping and no real teamwork whatsover. Thats my biggest achilles heel in games like these...I am always team oriented when I play and expect team ates to watch my back as I do theirs but it NEVER happens"Im all jacked up on mountain dew!"

Re: Battlefield 3
I can believe that. I've also gotten my turning down a lot better and am turning faster than I ever was able to. The key isn't to holding down the L trigger the whole turn, it's hitting it going into the turn, then hitting the R trigger at the right time to kind of whip out of the turn and get around faster. After finding that out last night I had like 1,500 points within 5 minutes of a match because I disabled 5-6 jets in that span.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Battlefield 3
I'm trying to get more into this, despite running into freezes, numbnuts who don't play the mode's objectives, and my own woeful lack of skill.
PSN is timebandit32
I tried applying to the OperationSports.com platoon from battlelog but it said I can't. Is it full or is there some restriction?
I waded through some of the thread and will send out some friend requests in PSN. I'm gonna grab a headset this week, I think if I get in a good squad with people on mic and get some on the fly pointers I'll get better. I eventually got pretty good at BF2 on PC, but I don't quite have the hand of shooter with pad and BF2 was a few miles ago for this aging gamer. Now playing
too much
