You're right about the FAMAS. I've been getting killed left and right with that damn thing.

It just seems like anybody with a higher rank than I has some extra defense or stronger weapons. Anytime I catch them and get shots off first, it doesn't matter and they end up killing me. I'm not the best player, but I believe my accuracy isn't THAT bad. Stats show it hovers around 14%. Plus I see the hit indicator flashing, so I know that I'm hitting these dudes.

Like yesterday, I would hit a guy in point blank range. On the kill screen I would look, and it would show 100% health. I'm sitting there thinking "WTF?". This happened several times.

And these cheap deaths, I guess you can call them, are always with people that have a higher rank. I don't ever remember thinking I died cheaply with someone below my rank.

I'm not sure if anything is really going on there. But, it sure does feel like the higher ranking guys have super powers or something.

Nah you just have to find a gun your comfortable with that fits you that can put enemies down fast. And remember and practice Burst firing it works wonders in this game.

Another thing when you run out of bullets in a gunfight dont reload hit triangle for your handgun and learn to use that ...i cant count the number of times the hangun has won me a gunfight. I use the tact light on the handgun and only use it in those situations...that way it gives you and advantage when you pull it out but it doesnt give a way your position when your not using it

Yes, swapping to the pistol instead of reloading is a skill I'm working on...and like Erickonasis I have have my tac light on my pistol for an advantage in that situation. But I'll also go on record to say I hate the taclites and lasers being so damn blinding in broad daylight. I hope the patch at least nerfs down the lights so it's not super-nova anymore.

14% is a solid number for accuracy, but you gotta know this.. There's players out there who hit 25-30% on their shots and they aren't using snipers... That's why it seems like they aren't dying at all even if you get the jump on them. I'm at around 20% and I do find certain players tough to kill. It's just they are just that much more accurate which in turn leads to quicker deaths.

ok cool, do you guys set up team matches or something? I don't know exactly how the team aspect in BF3 works, I'm new to it.

Some guys plan and get together in parties to try to play as four man squads...or just play together to mostly fill out a 12 man team.

Others, like myself, who have nutty, unpredictable schedules just jump on and if a BF3 friend is playing, join in on their game if there's an opening.

I think others here can better elaborate on the team play aspects of the game; I get too wordy for my own good.

Yep, most of the time I just try to join into games with guys on my friends list that are already going on if I don't have something specific set up, which I hardly ever do. If you see them in a party you can join in and that way you can talk to each other, even if you are not on same team or in same squad.

I love this game BTW, and haven't put in this much time on a game in a long long time. Looking forward to the new maps next week.

FYI not sure about PC or PS3, but for 360, if you're on a DICE server, it allows people trying to join a full server to enter a queue that will automatically put you in the server once your spot comes up. It's better than having to keep checking to see if any spots open.

I think I finally figured out why my friend and I were losing so much. It was hardcore. Though we both liked hardcore, we've come back to normal and have won 12 of the last 16 matches. I don't know what it is, but apparently hardcore just wasn't for us even though we did like it.

It feels good to enjoy this game again. It's like I'm playing it for the first time all over again.

Wow. That's the last thing I would have guessed to tell you to check canes.

It could be lag too. In this game it is not a noticeable thing. In COD when you are lagging you can tell by the jumpiness of everyone. It only happens on certain maps on BF3 but for the most part if you lag you can't really tell.

I tried to play while simultaneously downloading the map pack on another PS3 and I noticed a lot weird things happening. I exploded in Air vehicles 4 times without hitting anything on my screen and all it would say is Suicide. I had no idea what caused it though.

You probably already have some. I'm at rank 30 too, and I have squad sprint, ammo, and flak. Also, make sure you are not selecting personal specializations in your loadout.

Love these additional maps! I can see why people liked them in the last game. They actually make some of the new ones look really weak.

Yeah I love the "new" maps especially since the only other BF I've played was Bad Company 2.

Lots of excellent recon sniping lines/levels and ways to counter it. Love the Conquest Assault mode too.
