As if it wasn't all ready obvious that I haven't played since the patch......

I'm ****ing horrible. I was getting so frustrated I could have broke something on that Rush on Firestorm. I have no chance of relearning the game, when I'm playing with a bunch of people who have been playing since the patch first came out....

Also, I've downloaded the Karkland content TWICE and it still wont work when it goes to those maps.

So I just beat the Campaign today and it was surprisingly good. I really enjoyed all of it and will probably play it again. Plus the music in it is great.

I have a favorite song from the whole OST, but its title is a spoiler to the story.

            Re: Battlefield 3

I tried Hardcore again and only played in an Epic Battles server and it was great. Taking down enemy jets is so much easier in HC. It seems most really good pilots stay in normal, especially when looking at youtube because they fly in 3rd person so much, but in HC I was destroying jets left and right it felt like. I wasn't racking up kills, but I probably disabled 20 jets in the few matches I played tonight. Plus I got a few helicopters and tanks too since everything destroys easier in HC.

I also pulled off a move I was very proud of. An enemy jet tried to wrap around behind me and chase me, but I saw this on my Air Radar and start to brake hard and pull up in the F35 and my plan worked perfectly. The F35 entered hovering mode, the enemy flew right by me as I was exiting hover mode and I ended up right behind in under 5 seconds of the initial chase starting. I followed him for a few seconds, shot a few bursts from my main gun and disabled his jet, he bailed, I destroyed it, but never got a kill, but it was still an awesome moment and I felt like an amazing pilot haha.

Disagreeing, I posted earlier about all the babies over at Battlelog, and picked this out of NUMEROUS posts to give an example.

I'm more than happy with the patch.

Okay guys, after playing with the 3 main classes a good amount post patch, here's my [probably awful] gun guide

                    Assault Rifles

Take off your foregrip. It gives an accuracy hit and seems to add more recoil.

I like suppressors so I stay off the map, but you lose range significantly now. If you want to be able to make shots at range, put either heavy barrel or flash supressor. Heavy barrel will give more recoil but less spread. But like I said I'm still rolling with the suppressor.

Before, just holding down R1 worked and didn't give as much of a spread as it does now. At close range you could just go fully auto and take a guy out without wasting too many bullets.

Now, the spread seems to be increased on all guns (unconfirmed), so going fully auto makes your bullets go everywhere. This means you need to actually control your gun at all ranges.

The way to do this is not quick bursts. The initial recoil on the guns has been increased (at least the F2000, M16, and M416) so with quick bursts you just keep getting high recoil over and over again. Go with medium busts--hold the trigger slightly longer than you would normally do in your bursts and you will notice the difference.

The downside of this is you will most likely use more bullets, making assault rifles now weaker against multiple targets than before. So you must pick your battles and learn to find cover quickly to reload or whip out the Rex.

*I haven't tried switching to 3 round bursts on any of the weapons*

                    Carbines

You can actually keep your setup with the carbines. My A-91 is still useful with foregrip/suppressor. But fully auto at close range is still bad like the assault rifles, so use the same method as above.

                    LMGs

Don't use LMGs unless you are prepared for super recoil and super inaccuracies. It takes a while to get used to.

But, these might be the best guns to use post patch because of the large magazines. You now seem to have to use more bullets to kill due to lower accuracy, so the more you have the better.

I roll with HOLO/foregrip/suppressor with the PKP and using the method I said before it is deadly especially if you have squad suppression equipped. You can flank and take out everyone, like I did in my last Metro Marathon multiple times. Because of the suppressor, guys won't know where their friends are dying from and by the time they notice it should be too late.

If you're good, you can win 1-on-1's easily with an LMG and not have to stop to reload. But to control recoil even post patch, you definitely need the foregrip and I recommend the supressor

Thank you Jnes, that's very helpful. I'll pop off the foregrips from the assault class, leave em on eng and support. For my beloved M249, I'll try your recipe of suppressor/foregrip/holo (i usually go with foregrip and holo and ext mag).

Yeah I was in a building & ran ito an enemy and tried spraying holding the trigger from the hip and didn't get a hit marker. So it does seem like the bullet spread is pretty pronounced. More controlled bursts seems to give better results.

Anyone else playing core/hardcore notice more team and squad talk in hardcore? It was really nice having squad mates tell me where the tanks/enemies are so I can paint the tanks for the engineers/ take out enemies long range. Maybe its just the randoms I've played against.

Also I've never had a squad smoke cover a conquest point until I played HC. Weird I've never had that happen in core modes.
