    Re: Battlefield 3

I can't afford a new rig for BF3, but I have a fairly new Macbook Pro that I run Windows 7 on via bootcamp. My specs for this laptop are:

    CPU: 2.2Ghz Quad-core i7
    Memory: 4GB 1333mhz DDR3
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 3000 (Integrated)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6750 w/ 1GB of DDR5 Memory (Discrete)
    HDD: 750GB 7200/rpm

I know I won't be able to run it at max settings, but I'm shooting for at least medium. Also, I suck at using the mouse and keyboard (I find it too confusing), so I was looking into a Windows xbox 360 controller. Does BF support that? Thanks.

That should be good enough to run at medium or even higher settings! Depending on resolutions of course.

You needed a third party program like "epadder" to work in BC2. There was no direct support. Do not know if they will do it for BF3, but third party programs and mapping will work.

Just prepared to be smoked to KB/Mouse users.

Well I should be good to go now.
I think I may be back to gaming on PC the majority of the times with consoles being used for sports and "Console Only" games I like.
        We'll see...
I do know Elder Scrolls is now PC, Battlefield may have to be 360 and PC. (I talked brother in law into a 360 afew months ago so we could game together and he's all about the military games.. so i can't bail on him with BF3 as he's really pumped for it..oh well)

Really? Is it just more responsive?

It's more precise, and the same holds true for pretty much any PC FPS. Unless one happened to be really inept with a mouse, I guess...

Edit: I see you actually said you're not so good with Mouse/KB. I guess in that case you might find it easier, but like Enigma said, you can probably expect to find yourself at a disadvantage.

Because if I want to play TDM, Call of Duty does it better IMO.

The difference in Conquest from BF1942/BF2 to Bad Company was that the flags meant next to nothing other than a spawn point in Bad Company. So it was essentially TDM and people waiting on tanks/Helios. Got old (even still put 100 hours online into BFBC2).

                Re: Battlefield 3

I got a new Dell laptop XPS a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure if I can run this game or Skyrim, but it's a pretty damn good computer and I hope by some miracle it can. Can anyone help me out?

                Windows 7 64-bit
                7.9 GB RAM
                Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2520M CPU @ 2.50GHz
2.5 GHz Performance Rated at: 7.25 GHz
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590
                Video RAM 1.7 GB

I know nothing about these kind of things but would prefer to get BF3 for PC than PS3 obviously.

Is there any details on flying the jets. I've put tons of hours into Falcon 4 over the years and while I'm sure I'm rusty there's nothing like a sim experience in the air. So yeah I'll be favoring the Skies vs the ground

FYI, all you dudes who posted your specs in the last few posts are DEFINITELY set to play the game. Most if not all on at least high settings.

I, on the other hand, have to deal with low or medium settings with this:

                            Intel Core i5-2410M 2.30GHz
                            GeForce GT540M 1GB
