I wasn't a great player, since I've never owned the games, but I did play the BFBC2 beta, demo, and borrowed it from a friend. Enjoyed it a lot! I got bored out of COD real quick..

I would think so. That would probably be the graphical fidelity of the console versions anyhow. Just with the controls and options you prefer.

Yeah, I know all that jazz. Just wasn't sure if it will stay near to the level of its hype, I guess.

Yup, I need more PS3 guys for this game. Hopefully I'll get to add some from here at OS.

True where friends make it waaaaayyyy better... but I even had a blast in the series dating back to BF2 with just random teams and servers. People just know to gel together (at least on the PC versions) and most people have mics.

CoD is just a different mindset anyhow, everyone out for themselves, even on the same team.

bada-bing, bada-boom. exactly why i'm hesitant to get this game. i don't care for the idea that i need to set up "play dates" with my friends to play this game. i like the run-and-gun way of playing in CoD. the more "intimate" maps. battlefield would be a great game, but i just don't like all the prep it takes.

I hardly ever play with friends and I love Bad Company 2. Guess it depends if you think using a mic is important. I just mark objectives and enemies with the select button, that is all the communication I need.

Exact reason I can't stand COD. No strategy. Just a bunch of people running and gunning with no care of objective or team play.

                  Damn right! That's why I sit with a 1.42 W/L and a 2.55 K/D.

But I only play TDM 90% of the time, so the W/L isn't my fault. I do like S&D though.

I hope the beta will be up for a while. I would hate for it to shut off early.

What is K/D? I don't see it in the Battlefield dictionary.

Just from personal experience, playing BC2 on the PS3 with OSers...

We completely ****ing dominated. I remember nights where we would almost have three squads of nothing, but OS guys and we completely walked through maps against people..

We had to start playing against each other to feel a major challenge.

Looking forward to it again, that's for damn sure.

Battlefield finds a nice balance between individual, "me-first" shooters and a good, tactical shooter. You can still be rewarded for being a good individual player as long as your playing within the overall objectives. That's why DICE gets the $60.
