Re: Battlefield 3
The game is really buggy right now. I'm glad they had a beta because if the game hit the shelves like this everyone would be really pissed. Disregarding the bugs, the game is fantastic. They added a lot of cool little features that really impress me. The lighting system is amazing and I love (and hate) being blinded by a flashlight and knowing that someone is setting there sights on me with a red dot sight when my screen goes red.
Has anyone been able to communicate with their squad? I couldn't hear my friends and they couldn't hear me today and we've been playing Battlefield and Call of Duty together for years so the lack of teamwork effected us pretty badly.Last edited by Equinox831; 09-30-2011, 10:40 PM.Chicago Bulls | Chicago Bears | Chicago White Sox | Chicago BlackhawksComment

Re: Battlefield 3
I just wanna say, I could not post this before, since I had to run out...
But I played it on the PC finally after being on the PS3... oh my, oh oh oh oh my... what a difference. Maybe it is because I love the KB/Mouse combo, but everything is much better. Sounds, graphics, controls... and the squads, people actually work together in competent squads. Make pushes and proper defenses.
Teamwork is night and day on the PC comparative.
I am still getting it on both, and will have fun on both... but the PC is still definitely the way it is meant to be played. It is just that good on there. Wow!

Re: Battlefield 3
I am on the PS3. My impressions:
- Call of duty style, the lone wolf, is too present.
- No teammwork whatsoever. maybe due to headsets not working propperly. I cant comunicate with noone once the game starts, On the lobby yes. Thus sometimes I can hear, from time to time, one of the user speaking, but only one and not consistent.
- I though there were ramdom spawns, doesnt seems like that. there are either the preset squad spawn or the selected member spawns. Oftenly there were campers waiting on the preset squad spawns.
- I know that my controllers have problems with the sticksas well as with the dpad, but not to the extend tht this game reflects. I keep proning. Also, cant seem to kill people with a couple of shots. I know this aint hardcore but still, cant kill people with a "burst" or 2. My shots dont hurt.
- I will need plenty of practice.
- 2 friends and I did like a party, didnt press squad but friend inv, thus once the game started only 2 were on the same team. Each time.Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
Is anyone running the beta in a crossfire configuration? I got a really good deal on a second 5870 on Ebay and I was just wondering what kind of performance increase I can expect.
I have heard some people say that the beta doesn't support crossfire at all and only one GPU is utilized. Anyone have any information on this?Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
So after about 5 hours total put into the 360 beta, I love this game so much. The graphics were not as big of an improvement of BC2 as I thought they'd be, but they are a slight improvement. I expect them to maybe be a tad bit better in the retail, but not much. I wasn't expecting them to look like the trailers or anything, but I did expect a bigger improvement.
The sound, however, makes up for the graphics. It blows BC2 away. It's amazingly realistic and so is the character movement. Just seeing someone moving around looks real. Seeing someone gunned down looks eerily realistic. And moving, sprinting up stairs, etc. all just feels right. I had a few instances last night where I would sprint and try to stop right on top of the person I was about to revive, but my momentum carried me a few step further than I anticipated. I love that. I have it figured out now to plan to stop a few steps ahead of where I really want to stop.
I also really love the guns. They're all different in my opinion and are more difficult to use than BC2. Recoil is a lot more prevalent and makes holding down the trigger not as easy as BC2 or even BF2.
I am enjoying the map in the demo, but I wish there was one more to give us the real Battlefield experience. It's strange they picked Metro because it really has no buildings to collapse and it has no vehicles, but it is attractive to the CoD crowd, so I get that. I just wish they used Metro for Rush and another, larger map for Conquest so we could experience both modes and two different style maps.
Overall I love the game. I love how much more serious and realistic everything is over BC2. I was hoping it would go that route and it has. I'm hoping most of the issues I've seen are fixed in the retail version. I expect server problems at release, but I really hope that the graphical glitches and terrain glitches are fixed because those are okay to be in a beta, but not a retail game. It is DICE, so I have confidence everything will work out fine.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Battlefield 3
There's so many glitches lol I assume it's because it's just a beta but if not, yikes.
This game is starting to grow on me though. Even the simple way the screen moves while you're running feels so right. It realy all depends on the squad you have, but I'm having a blast moving around with some teammates and using the defibulator whenever one of them goes down. Just put up like 4000 points in one game and I only went like 19/20.NFL: Bills

Re: Battlefield 3
Right, this is happening to me as well. Hopefully just a beta bug. Have any of you fell under the map yet? I paid for my copy back in july so I hope they address these issues. For the most part they patched and supported the game well with Bad Company 2.Comment
