Man is it irritating playing with randoms...they just cruise around in jets/tanks and completely ignore objectives...either that, or camp in some corner away from the objective

In the random jet defense, there isn't really much to do up there other than shoot down enemy jets/helis and pray you don't get taken out by AA. If you can keep the things in the air I think you're doing pretty well because it likely means no enemy helis are in the air (easy targets). You can try to shoot something on the ground but you almost have to have ground-level teammates spotting for you, and if you fly too low for too long your landing gear pops out and you're screwed.

Helis/Tanks doing nothing or less than nothing....yeah, they suck. They're much more dedicated to the battle the whole team is fighting.

I LOVE Operation Metro. I guess I'm in the minority when it comes to liking that map.

No I love it too. It's the classic "I played the crap out of it in the beta" combo with the fact it's dark and a ton of close quarters battle. Some people like the wide open maps where they can sit back and fight at long range. I like those too but I also like the close up action. You can rack up a ton of points if you're aggressive in the subway part. I also like fighting in the dark like that. Makes for some intense fire fights.

I'm still trying to find my identity in this game. I had a very good game (by my standards) using recon...which actually happened by accident...so I stuck with it and had another pretty good game followed by my worst game to date in BF3

Operation Metro is an awesome map. Especially if you are a medic, you can turn the tide of the battle with the defib.

Is there a tutorial mode for this? I jumped into the single player campaign, but think I may be missing some moves like getting cover and different ways to shoot from behind cover.

I like Operation Metro, it rules in Conquest (I still hate Rush mode) but there's definitely glitching with it. Not sure if it's something people found in the beta to glitch and it carried over or what. But I looked through some games on it and seems to be the map where people go bonkers on crazy stats like 29-1 and 30-3 pretty much regularly because once they get under the map, they can't be killed unless they walk out of it accidentally it seems.

I agree Metro is a great map especially in regards to conquest mode. I like where the flags are located, and you really have to use teamwork and strategy to gain the flags and then hold them. It's probably one of the more faster-paced maps in conquest mode, and the key is to slow yourself down. A couple times playing that map I would just run into the terminal and not jump into the fray of the action and would be cut down in a matter of seconds. Also in my opinion, if you start on the cafe side of the map with a bad team and can't get and hold flag B you're almost doomed to losing the match, especially if the other team has cohesion.

Has anyone had success playing as Recon on Metro?

I've had it happen to me as well (PC), but eventually it'll let me deploy.

When it did that to me on the PC, I ALT/TAB'ed in and out (good ole interface unstick trick from other games)... and it worked.

This game has suck little details that add to the realism.

Like when you bank hard, you hear the pilot breath harder and strain from the G forces!!!

Also when missiles or rockets fly by trees, the physics are effected, and the trees sway harder... good stuff!

Do you use a joystick or controller for the jet? Mouse and KB works when you have an adjustable DPI mouse, but the constant having to lift up and slide the mouse when banking is cumbersome.

Have yet to have success with recon on that map, haha. Too much buzzsaw and zerging.

Not only doomed to lose, but spawn trapped in five minutes. That is where my frustration came from last night. Worst overall team I've ever been on. We were spawn trapped immediately and instead of making a push for A, everyone seemed content to just hide out near A and wait for kills. It was rather apparent none of them actually cared about winning the game, but were just there for kills.

I'm not a huge fan of those straight Conquest maps.

I am loving this game. However, I almost cringe when I get online to play and there are no OS'ers/friends playing. I just do not enjoy playing with randoms. Playing with OS'ers has really been enjoyable and it has led to winning matches most of the time.

I see something awesome in every game I play. I was running past a small building last night and a tank shot the building and big pieces of concrete blew right past me and while I was running I had to jump over the rubble in order to keep moving forward. This game is just a blast to play.
