If I remember correctly;

Left stick - yaw
Right stick - pitch/roll
L1 -fire
R1- flares/smoke/optics
Triangle - switch weapons
R2 accelerate/ascend
L2 decelerate/descend

360 controls are probably similar

BaylorBearBryant blasted me once with 870 at a reasonable distance. I'm sure if he was using a shotgun in real life some of the spread would have caught me, but it was instant death..

I saw something about pistols being toned down, if anything some of the shotguns do need it. The pistols seem fine to me.

No it doesn't. I use the 870 shotgun (I think that is what it is) and if you add slugs to it your range does increase however it is very hard to aim at someone far away with it. Even adding a scope to it makes it hard. Not to mention you sacrifice power for range so at close range you get tore up. Also the lower health you have the spread can eat you up. Granted without slugs it takes me about 3-4 shots from about 3 car lengths away to kill. However I love when you the lucky headshot and you just stand there feeling like a boss, lol.

Btw I guess you never played BFBC2 huh? Lol. The slugs on that game were ridicules. It was really unbalanced. I literally would destroy snipers with the shotgun at extreme ranges. They did a nice job in BF3 toning it down from BFBC2 but still keeping the long range factor while making it harder.

Agreed about the pistols, IMO I think maybe the 870's range needs to be turned down because that is the gun that has been giving me fits.

I actually had BF2 but I can't honestly remember about the shotguns because I haven't played in so long. Hopefully it was a rare occurrence because I was killed from pretty deep.

Yeah I usually change to slugs on open maps to give me range but majority of the time I throw buckshot on it and run into the fray.

Nothing like seeing a group of enemies a good bit away, calculating your rout through, around or making a hole in buildings to flank them then getting a squad wipe ribbon. I love the whole tactical rout planning in the Battlefield series. Maybe that's why I love using the shotguns in Battlefield then any other game. You can plan out or make your own flanking routs with my trusty RPG.

One thing I'm disappointed in is the lack of a Theater Mode. I thought every since Halo introduced it, it would be standard for most games. Especially this one where there are so many awesome moments and such that you could record.

Like one on the top of my head, I was playing Firestorm and was in a firefight with a tank and like 3 or 4 infantry. I had my a squad with me and had a friendly tank on its way. We were at a or b(one with the fuel tanks) and all of a sudden I heard I noise and looked up to see a enemy Jet on fire heading straight for us. I hit the dirt behind a container. He hit the fuel tanks and BOOM, he wiped out his tank and team. My squad also got wiped out as well. Pieces of the jet flew every where. I stood up and captured the point but it was so awesome how the fire and debree was falling all around me.

Why so? I can't get enough even when no OS guys are on. I just started doing the co-op missions, and I've had a blast. Plus unlocking extra weapons

I seems every single game I go into when I play by myself my squad mates and team mates are just complete idiots. No spotting, no one covers you, everyone is sniping, everyone is using mortars, no one tries for the objectives, etc.

I just want one decent game where I'm in a squad that works together to make a push for an objective.

I seems every single game I go into when I play by myself my squad mates and team mates are just complete idiots. No spotting, no one covers you, everyone is sniping, everyone is using mortars, no one tries for the objectives, etc.

I just want one decent game where I'm in a squad that works together to make a push for an objective.

Haha thanks. Our squad was controlling the game completely. Although in games like that I always wonder, "What's the rest of our team doing if we are the only ones every near an mcom station."
