Re: Battlefield 3
What this game needs is a tutorial patched in. Teaching you how to play, letting people fly planes and helicopters so they can get used to them, etc. I know I'm guilty if my team is losing bad (without playing with friends), I'll get in a plane or heli and try to get them down...most of the time crashing into the side of a building or mountain. LOL
Almost in utter shock there's no tutorial or way to play against bots to just learn the game.Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
Bots would make this game so much better.
Warhawk has a good tutorial, don't know why this game doesn't.Last edited by LingeringRegime; 11-03-2011, 05:48 AM.Comment

I know I'm guilty of some pretty bad wrecks myself. I think we all are.Last edited by LivingLegend; 11-03-2011, 05:45 AM.Green Bay Packers

Re: Battlefield 3
But I know how to play (can't fly for ****, but know the game). So many others don't, and have no clue about youtube videos or facebook pages with guides. Which is where the disconnect comes in with this game.Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
As far as Op Metro conquest, the team that starts in the lower tunnel is at a distinct disadvantage, I ran from there straight to B and the other team had already capped it before I even got there. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Re: Battlefield 3
yeah wtf...i was in a chopper and some guy was just gunning me down with that gun and I'm the PILOT!
I was pretty high up as well to make sure no snipers get a clean shot at me...instead I get hit with an assault rifle...smh...Last edited by Goffs; 11-03-2011, 08:01 AM.Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
In all the games I have played so far, I still have not attempted the jet or helicopter. I have watched numerous vids showing how to fly but I just don't think it is fair to my team to learn how to start flying in the middle of battle. They really dropped the ball with no practice mode for this!“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
I enjoy the funnel approach because it is SOOOO much better for stupid teammates to know what to attack next. Plus it gives way to some extremely intense fire fights in these close quarters. Weapons such as the support machine guns are much more important with their suppressive role.
Basically I think it is nice to have a mixture of not only different environments but also how the maps play. Bottlenecks and choke points are a true point of war and not always having the option at flanking.
I view these maps the same way i view a football field. Your team is trying to push against your opponents field towards "their goal line".Last edited by Phobia; 11-03-2011, 08:38 AM.Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
I got to disagree on these two fronts. We have several maps that are spread out excellent and multiple routes to hit from. Then we have a couple that are more funnel focused. I think this is a great change of pace kind of maps.

Ditto for the shotgun in close quarters. It's my weapon of choice to defend the first B on Seine Crossing. Drop a crate of ammo and just start unloading it the second anything moves through the tiny choke-point doorway. The bodies pile up quickly.Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
Call me crazy, but I'm glad the game doesnt have tutorials for the helicopters and jets. I think that's part of the Battlefield experience and its a good feeling when you master a vehicle. I don't want everyone in the game being expert pilots.
I'm just now getting used to the chopper controls. I still have a hiccup sometimes, but for the most part I fly pretty well.Comment
