    • Don't be the 6th sniper on the same rock. If you like the recon tools, choose an automatic weapon or shotgun with your recon class and move up with the rest of the team. The front line needs bodies. Stay out of harms way if you need to and place the radio beacon in a secure spot near objectives so your squad can spawn closer to the action.

    • If your squad dies near an objective and you are still alive. Stay down and keep alive if possible. Allow your squad time to spawn on you before taking on the objective yourself.

    • Don't take a vehicle to get to a sniping position. Walk. Vehicles are a valuable asset.

Edit: One last tip: Slow Down. Think before you move. The game rewards a well thought out plan.
Agreed on all counts. I'm someone who dies WAY more often than I get kills, but I'm getting points by doing the following:

*As support class, find the engineers and snipers in your squad and drop ammo for them. You get more points when you heal/resupply your squad. Engineers need more rockets.
*As assault, drop med kits like there's no tomorrow. Find a firefight, and hunker down and drop medkits to heal your team. I find it's tougher in BF3 to revive guys than it was in BC2, so I mostly drop medkits. Reviving team members usually gets me killed.
*As stated, move slowly. Everytime you go around a corner, expect to shoot someone. I still get amazed how quickly guys can aim and kill me before I even see them.

But all these support classes still make it fun for me to be in the middle of battles.

I think moving slowly can't be overstated, moving cover to cover, once you are near the action. I sprint to get TO the general area of the action, then once I'm within a count of 50 or so I slow down and move up more carefully.

I play support 98% of the time; I'll switch to engineer if there's a pesky piece of armor that needs killin As support, I'm constantly tossing ammo, especially at the recon guys if they are in range and engineers. Try not to toss your ammo (or medkits) in such a position that it puts your guys in greater peril, too.

PS: I still die too much, but I'm working on it.

Give it a week or two and the "newness factor" of COD will wear off and people will come back to BF3...i hope.

I am not buying COD even though I had never played a game in the BF series before this one. I don't think I can go back to crappy sounding guns and non-destructible environments. I need to be able to blow the front off a building to expose a sniper or bring a building down on someone who is camping in it. I love that.

Extremely unlikely that this would ever happen. I love BF as well but COD is just the more appealing general game and Kill Confirm has to be the most fun a game mode as ever.

That kinda depends...I got caught in a one man sqyad scenario and sometimes the focus on rush is so much on the other target that I can sneak in, lay a couple of mines and disarm the mcom and move to a nice overwatch posture without dying. But its an exception not the rule. Its all situation based...sometimes a two man team is bueno while a bigger team attracts attention elsewhere

Cover to cover is so huge. One of the biggest things I see people do who come over from COD is they never stop running. They don't realize that is how you get killed. Run only to switch positions, then stop, check everywhere before moving again. The amount of times I've ran from cover to cover, paused and then picked someone off is astonishing.

The constant running just does not work in this game, yet some people think that is the only option.

Has anyone noticed any unusual range for weapons, lately ?

In this one match I just played, I got killed from forever away with a m1014, m9 piston, then one of the semi automatic shotguns.. all across a huge street from me

You may be right that people would rather play MW3. But there are some that will get both games and decide they like BF3 better. It may not be the majority, but there will be some that will play COD this week and next because it's new and then return.

COD is definitely more popular, and I'm not saying I would not play it. But in the long run I'm gonna stick with BF3. If you are on 360 and need someone to play with, add me. Gamertag is same as my screen name here. Lemme know you are from OS.

I was extremely frustrated supplying ammo last night! I would see the icon pop up over their head and make my way over to them (most of the time on the opposite side of the street) give the ammo, only to watch them run away from the supply! :
