Re: Battlefield 3
It's really all about balance: one support guy plus a combination of medics and engineers depending on context for the remaining three of a squad is the way to go IMO. I want to pull my hair out when too many support guys are running around.Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
i dont kno9w man rush and conquest for some reason i cant get into these modes as much....just very little people not in a vehicle or camping **** just gets stale to me ....i spend 5 minutes actually looking for someone to kill and then boom i die from a camper and then repeat....i think i'll stick with TDM...those other modes are just to slow and i'm not really a fan a vehicles.
But to piggyback on what LTD said j ness is a beast at driving the tanks i agreeComment

Re: Battlefield 3
Man, vehicles are what separates this game. Nothing like owning the battlefield in a tank. Also, it is alot of fun being an engineer and being a thorn in a tanks side. The javelin with some good spotters is a game changer. Also it is hilarious to get a lock on an air vehicle and watch people panic and crash into the ground. They are so desperate to get away from the lock on that they just crash themselves.Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
I'm reading and watching videos about the AMTRAC and this thing is so underused. You have a grenade thing launcher, and LMG, super reactive armor (more than a tank does), a mobile spawn point, and even smoke. A team can dominate with just an AMTRAC if it's used properly. I think that's why people think conquest on Canals is so uneven because the AMTRAC is never used properly, and because people don't want to be the driver of itComment

Re: Battlefield 3
I used to use that all the time when the game came out. The only issue is, ******* drivers who spin in circles thinking they're helping you out. The turret moves with the body of the vehicle and if the driver is spinning in circles for no reason whatsoever... It's almost impossible to lineup a shot to kill someone. I love using it when I'm the only one in it. I'll drive to a spot where I can see the objectives, switch to the gunner and blast away. Once it's captured, I start driving to the next objective. I really dislike the drivers who just hop in and screw around with positioning.Eagles | Phillies | Sixers | Flyers

I want more gun on gun gameplay ...i come from a Socom background. Never really liked the vehicles in Socom 3 always thought they were horrible. Never was a fan of twisted metal / ace combat type games and thats what this reminds me of somewhat (the vehicle parts)SLIDERS SUCKComment

Re: Battlefield 3
Vehicles are what set this franchise apart though. You can have a group of skilled gun vs gun players get owned by a guy in a chopper and another in a tank or other heavy vehicle.
I've tried flying jets, but for the life of me I can't get a kill in one of those things. I get so disoriented in the cockpit view that I go third person, but then there's no reticule to see what you're shooting at. No kills=no heat seakers=no chance against these aces that are online. Same thing with choppers. When I see these guys weaving in and out of buildings I just get angry, like "HOW THE F ARE THEY DOING THAT!!"
That's why I usually stick to tanks or infantry...I can hold my own there.Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
Yea ...that aspect is kinda lame IMO. Thats why i stick with TDM...always tons of people playing there and rooms are always full. I really dont have any desire to drive tanks or planes but i love the classes and just the overall gameplay and teamwork involved in the general game (without the use of the vehicles). I dont like that the game almost forces you to use vehicles in some form to be successful.SLIDERS SUCKComment

Re: Battlefield 3
One question and one revelation:
1) Over the last 3 or 4 days I can't do a "Quick Match." This effecting anyone else? I can choose an individual server just fine, but when I choose quick match it fails and tells me to check my network connection. Weird.
2) I've finally started to get MVP ribbons regularly
The biggest difference? Actually trying to stick with my squad mates. I know...totally new concept, right? But sticking with them gives you easy revives if you are assault, easy support candidates, and also prevents you from getting killed easily in fire fights. I wish people would stick together more often as it makes taking objectives super easy.
Besides, how many times have you tried to hold off a checkpoint by yourself only to be overrun by 3 or 4 squadmates working in coordination?Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
I need to get into using the support class more.
I usually kick a lot of *** as a medic. I'm sure anyone who has played with me can vouch for my dedication to reviving fallen team mates and saving tickets.
Some maps just require me to play as an engineer. Tehran Highway is one of those. There's no way to avoid vehicles and I hate feeling helpless against vehicles.Comment
