Well I just picked up a new plasma tv and had my best games yet - The 600 hz refresh rate really has a nice advantage over the 120 hz lcd

After playing at the Canals against a very experienced set of pilots, I'm starting to think that the Mobile AA should be more prominent in levels with a helicopter. The middle 3 set of M-Coms are so easy to dominate with a great pilot.

I just played a few rounds against one of the most annoying players ever. He would just hide in the back of the map and roll out the MAV, then fly it around and just crash it into people. I really don't think that thing should be able to kill you like that. It seems so cheap. Plus those things are so damn annoying to shoot down...I've never tried but do any of the launchers lock onto it?

Also does anyone have tips for sniping? And I don't just mean using the recon class, like actual sniping. I feel like I must lag or something; whenever I snipe, I only get hits about a quarter of the time, and even if I aim for head shots I rarely get them (even when using non-sniping weapons). Is there something funny about hit detection?

I'm literally so bad at sniping that I've only spent a couple hours total in that class. I have yet to even unlock the SOFLAM. At the same time I feel like I just get dominated by other snipers and can't figure it out.

I should also add: holy crap are frag rounds overpowered. On Damavand Peak one match, a guy on the whole other end of the tunnel was using the SAIGA with frag rounds and he somehow killed me. Literally he was at the entrance on the attackers side and I just entered via the defensive side. I won't even go into the USAS because that's been beaten to death.

If you are aiming directly at their head, you won't get a headshot unless they are near you. Always aim above it. Your bullet drops. If you aren't good with one-shot kills, I'd recommend not using a bolt-action rifle. At least that way you could probably get off another quick shot before they get to cover or whatever.

To be honest though, I most use the all class weapons in the Recon class. Every once in awhile I'll try out the sniper rifle though.

You know about the bullet drop at a distance with the sniper rifles right? You have to compensate for the drop, your height from the guy you're shooting and movement when sniping. The greater the distance the greater the drop. At around 450m you have to start aiming with the second line and adjusting for the drop/heights and such.

But i don't know if you're sniping at that range or not. Also, you're probably going against guys like myself that do recon and snipe about 80% of the time since I've had the game, so they probably adjust for distance faster. Try the semi auto rifles, you can get off more shots with those. I like the SVD and SKS personally as my snipers of choice.

Bipod and 12x scope for the win.

I'm like herpes. I pop up all over the place at the worst times.

I'll should be on throughout the weekend with the exception of during the UFC fight tomorrow, so we'll have to do it again. I have a lot of fun playing despite my ineptness. And if any of you other guys to see it for yourself hit me up. I'm great at handing out ammo and long walks on the beach.

Kharg is WAY worse. Why they don't have mobile AA on that map is beyond me. With a semi decent pilot there is literally no way for attackers to lose. Impossible. The only time I've won on defense is when the attackers don't have anybody raking with the chopper or the jet. Most times you're dead the second you spawn by some assclown whose like 55-2 at the time.

Count me in. I'll be rolling engineer + squad explosives since it seems there's a need.

FWIW - four support guys on the team is just too many... especially with a pair rolling claymores.

Also, where was the heads up for this? I thought these guys cancelled?

If need be, I can roll with recon and use the MAV. I'm pretty good at it, and there's a need for it...and I doubt anyone will voluntarily pick that role. So if someone wants to take my support spot, I'll take the recon/MAV

Thanks for the sniping tips, all. I understand the need to compensate for bullet drop, and I definitely haven't mastered it yet (although I usually don't snipe from that far away as my longest headshot at 191m is from a carbine).

That said, I find even with all variables remaining constant, I still don't get hits like I think I should. For whatever reason my bullets just whiz through people and I get the feeling it's probably a lag issue. The other problem is I get annoyed so quickly I don't spend enough time improving or getting used to all the variables. I guess I'll have to sacrifice my SPM to unlock those recon class items.

Also I am going to try to be on tonight, but it will probably be after the start time of 10 PM so I don't know how useful I'll be. If anyone hangs around for "rec" matches after I'd like to squad up.

What are the rules? I say only all class weapons, and if they (or I) are using the MAV...no road kills. Not even by accident (which does happen) because the MAV is meant to be high in the sky, not low enough for a road kill

And everyone on our team that has a mic must use it and change the setting to "team"
