Re: Battlefield 3
Personally the custom servers have ruined the game for me. All it is now is you can't use this you can't use that or kicked. I even got kicked out of an empty server when I was just testing weapons & practicing flying. Whoever the admin was he just came in kicked me and then he left. If this is the route it is going then I've about had it. You should be able to jump into a game without worrying if you'll be kicked every second. Plus just looking through the server list is enough to make your head spin. To me dice has turned this game into a jumbled mess.
Given my low skill, hopping into these custom matches was doing nothing for my development. But I did figure out something -- Search tab using DICE, dice or [DICE] is your best friend! I discovered this a few days ago and started to rekindle my love for BF. Now you'll still have to sift through some of the games because people label their server to look like an official DICE server, but you can start to decipher the real ones when you look through the list. And if you have any questions, you can click the server and look at the Owner line. DICE officials will have DICE and all others will have a custom name. If/when you find a server that you like you can add to your favorites so you don't have to search anymore, you'll just be able to go to your favorites tab. You can add to favorites from the search menu, but it's always good to try the game out first and you can always add to favorites from the in game pause menu.
Unless I hop in a game with some fellow OSers, this is the method I use to find and play a game when I'm by myself.
Hope this helps and keeps you around!A negative mind will never give you a positive life.

Re: Battlefield 3
The enemy objectives, mini-map markers etc. are a different color to me than the 'orange' I see when you spot an enemy. So #TeamRed for those markers.

I actually enjoy the custom servers. It makes practicing and clan battles much easier + I have quite a few saved to my favorites. I have some rush, cq, mix of both, all Karkland, all original, etc. I have a server bookmarked for everything, including hardcore.
I usually look for servers that are hosted by a clan or search for 100% tickets..

Stormy I felt the same way. As much as I love Battlefield games, this really turned me off. It was like there were no 'regular' games anymore, just custom servers with high tickets or custom rules, and I didn't understand that.

And a lot of the time, even if you search "DICE" and it has a owner that isnt Dice, they have regular ticket counts and rules. At least in my experience.Comment

I think having them is having the best of both worlds. I was just kind of taken back how it seemed like Dice servers disappeared after they began allowing custom servers. I think in the long run it's win/win, keeping people playing BF longer which I think was their intent.
Good call on the ticket count TMagic!

Re: Battlefield 3
Thumbs up on both previous posts. I really like having the custom servers as they serve a great purpose. As you mention Chase they provide places for the ppl in clan battles, to practice (which I didn't think of -- I need to try hopping in a flight vehicle or two but hate to do it in game and hurt my team) and adds almost an endless variety of game play to keep things fresh.

I never flew choppers before until I learned on my server. That is until TMagic came in and started shooting me down....LOL
Just give me a buzz and I can set it up for practice.ll0ll0Comment

Re: Battlefield 3
I really, really hope that BF3 can hold me over until Armored Kill comes out in September.
BECAUSE I am starting to see the Madden hype and I can feel the drool forming....
I swear every year I wouldn't buy another Madden until they fix a laundry list of things but this year...oh boy...
Stop Stop...where's my AEK-971, time to release some Madden tension on the noobs....ll0ll0Comment
