Let's face it: The Saints Row games aren't as good as the GTA games, so building on and highlighting the differences between the two series as opposed to their similarities is smart.

SR2 was better than GTA IV in my opinion.

SR2 was better than GTA IV in my opinion.

they're different games though. GTA made a shift away from what made that franchise great in the first place towards more realism, while SR2 filled the San Andreas itch quite well.

I'll keep playing the Saints Row franchise to get over the top missions like spraying a septic truck all over businesses and rent GTA went it comes out. GTA is still going to be huge, but I'm not getting it at midnight or day one anymore.

I personally preferred GTA IV, but that's just me.

Can't wait for this though. Next to sports games, open world games like this, GTA and Godfather are my favorites.

Its better to me because its more fun. GTA IV is too realistic. SR2 is what GTA used to be which was a fun and entertaining game.

Hype meter has been officially turned on with a set release season.
Still early in SR2.
Check this out....21 hours playtime, 3 missions in.
Thats says it all.

This is by far my most anticipated title of the year. I still play Saint's Row 2 the most out of all the adventure/driving games I have. Volition's art style and special effects are really underated in SR 2. The character customization, plethora of detailed interiors, and insane cheats(evil cars and low gravity) keep me coming back for more.

GTA blows saints row out the water. That said, I played the crap out of both saints rows. Saints Row shouldnt be compared to GTA though; two completely different games in my opinion.

So you compare them and say GTA IV is easily the winner, but end your post saying they cannot be compared?

In my opinion both are great games and I cannot really say which I prefer.

...yea,ok.
While not a bad game,GTA was a good game that got by on name recognition,and the graphics. The missions as well as the main character were dull and boring (imo).

The customization and side missions alone were above anything in GTA.
This isn't meant to slam GTA,but to say it "blows saints row out the water" is ridiculous (imo).
