2 felt like a city to mess up and goof off in while 3 felt like more of a play area.

Re: Saints Row: The Third
The first Saints Row is still my favorite in the series by a good amount and one of my favorite games from all of last gen. It had the perfect balance of wackiness and had so much potential. 2 was still good, but I don't think I ever was able to keep playing 3 enough to beat it and haven't touched 4.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

From what I've read (well, if you can call looking at Wikipedia actually reading) they had a lot of problems with stability and bugs in the first game. Maybe that's why everything is so washed out and maybe a bit blurry (on the PS3, at least)?Last edited by youvalss; 10-20-2014, 07:23 PM.My Specs:

Re: Saints Row: The Third
It might be the nostalgia blocking it out, but I don't remember 1 running badly really ever unless every car in view was to blow up. The online in 1 is also another thing that I thought was just amazing at the time and really was just as good as the single player in any of the games in the series. It was a huge shame they scratched it and only kept co-op.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Saints Row: The Third
It's weird that 1 had such vibrant colors and nice lighting (too bad no PS3 version), but it was so washed out in 2. I've been watching some videos of 1 and it's actually nice to look at, as old as it is.

And if you haven't played part 1, you'll miss 89% of the point of 2, and 3. The stories and characters link from the events of the 1st game and also the humor and side jokes always link to the previous games, going into the sequels..Comment

Re: Saints Row: The Third
Online in SR1 lasted for me 3 years. 06-09 right up until the gang servers got **** down. I have never played a more addicting game online in my life. Good timesComment

Still playing 2 and having a blast. Trying to keep playing it for as long as I can before moving the 3.
By the way, I've seen some videos of 3 and there are signs with colored circles. What do they mean?My Specs:

Re: Saints Row: The Third
I really like those GDC videos (like the one I posted on p. 89). Here is another one, I just started watching it, but I think it's going to be really interesting.
