I just got the game but don't have consistent online time....mostly single player for now to get used to everything. XBone isn't the popular one here for GTA, there was a guy in the online gaming forum here for GTA that set up a separate crew or whatever, you might look for him

I cannot join friends' matches on line, either trough the game nor through gamertag. Any work around for this?EXPERIENCE MAYHEM FOOTBALLComment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I think it all depends on what type of session your friends are in. If they are in an invite only session, you won't be able to join in without an invite. I normally just send my friends a message to send me an invite or join their party chat. Hope that helps.PSN: ckarlic

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I've never played a GTA game before, but reading this thread made me purchase it digitally last night. Should be ready to play when I get home from work. Couple questions.
what are some things a noob like me should do before really jumping into the main story to get a feel of things?
Are you guys mostly going back and forth between the 3 characters or do you pick one to roam with and switch back mainly when required for missions?Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
At the start of the game it automatically goes between the characters until all 3 are unlocked, then you can choose what missions/side missions you want to do with each character to progress the story or just go about your business doing whatever you want. The game starts you right into the story though.
Like are the Therapist things worthwhile, or just side stuff for fun? Things like that...Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I can just do what seems fun with whatever character, right? Anything (besides stocks, which i've heard about) I should be looking for specifically? I've just been flipping between Franklin and Michael so far doing different story missions.

Random dudes in suits smoking on the beach. Coffey and I decided to join them.
My new fully modded ride for Franklin in story mode. Bought the Adder for $1,000,000. Love that lime green color.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Is there much benefit to finishing the single player before tackling online?
Related note, how can I get out there with some OS guys, I'm a noob but I catch on quick.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
They aren't connected so you can play online whenever you want regardless of the story mode. You want to make some money, buy a bunch of weapons and a nice car. Eventually you'll want an apartment to store your vehicles. Start out with a 2 car garage until you make more money. We usually never play in public rooms so we do private sessions. Always up for doing some missions and raising our RP.Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Not so fast my friend....I wouldn't waste money on a bunch of weapons.
As an example,I have about 500 smg's (never touch) another 275 pistols (never touch)....see the pattern here?...lmao
IMO,the most widely used and probably best weapons is the assault rifles, and even at that you only need a couple....my favs are the Bullpup and the advanced rifle.
I made the mistake of buying the smg's and pistols and found it to be a complete waste of money (imo).....
As far as the cars go,I would stick with the free Elegy, with a nice assault rifle and the free Elegy, ruling the streets of LS won't be that difficult.
Also one last thing to consider...if we can get 4 of us together, there's a pretty good chance of getting an assault rifle that won't need to be purchased.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment
