No, I get it. Getting gold is an optional goal rather than one of progression through the story.

It's weird. It seems like it's a 50/50 proposition for me on whether or not they actually do. I wonder if you have to have a spot open at the impound, like you can't have more than 2 cars there.
F that. I'd spend all my game time and money driving to the impound to make sure a slot is open.

I wish there was some kind of fast travel.

The map is large enough it's a pain trying to get Trevor a full day of hunting in when it takes 2-3 hours to drive up to where it's at. I have to watch the clock to time it so I start heading that way at 2am just to make it near the 5am start time.

They should've made buying a car like buying a horse in RDR.

You get the deed thing, and if it dies (or in the case of a car, gets totaled or disappears) you can just spawn a new one.

I meant to post this a couple of days ago.

I see why Trevor is so pissed off at Michael.

If I got a big *** tattoo on my arm with someone's name on it because they died, I'd be pissed too.

Didn't someone say something about car insurance online ?

I know it's weird, but I wish we had to actually buy fuel for the vehicles.

Unrelated: The lifeguards have each other's back. Stole a lifeguard ATV and knocked the dude out. I strolled along the shores of Vespucci Beach and stopped at the life guard post.

Dude comes down and says something about me taking someone's ride and then punches me in the face.. lol. It had to be a good 5 real life minutes later too.

On the subject of gold, I still can't get it on the third pistol challenge at the shooting range.

Went through last night and gold'd everything except that one.

Helicopter handles terribly. I've been using the TP Enterprises frogger to search for bounties and that thing is a bitch to bank and turn even with flying stat maxed out.

LOL, I say "as great as the game is, I'm a bit disappointed that" and somehow that turns into I'm not going to be happy no matter what and me calling the entire game a disappointment.

I want missions designed in a way that they are difficult to beat. If getting 100% head shots, or getting through the mission without denting the car isn't critical to pulling the mission, I don't see the point in going back and playing through it just to do it. Design the missions in a way that stuff like that is critical to beating the mission.

I agree with you. Some of the tasks in order to complete a mission and get gold have nothing to do with the actual mission at hand. That kind of thing really only caters to people who are crazy about virtual achievements.

Achievements/trophies (along with the f2p craze, on PC especially) are two of the worst things I can think of that have ever happened to gaming.

I agree that the game is so easy it's a bit disappointing - adding in fluff, fake external constraints does not make the game challenging, it makes a "false difficulty."

Yea, I feel like it's been made to be impossible to perfect. No matter how smooth and steady you are with the sticks/triggers...there is no perfect balance to get the chopper to hold a steady forward speed while still maintaining altitude. Also, the game seems to randomly jostle you off course if you happen to get perfectly aligned and headed towards where you want to go.

As for the discussion about getting Golds for every mission, does the game tell you the objectives somewhere previous to you starting each mission (thinking maybe in the pause menu once a mission has started?) I've never tried looking, but if it doesn't it would be impossible to accomplish most of the stuff on the first pass through, because the objectives are so random.
