Re: Ico and Shadow remakes confirmed
seems like it would be a slam dunk. Throw a small project budget at popular games and re-release them. In the case of the God of War franchise I'm sure the re-release worked as great way to market GOW3. Team ICO probably will do the same thing.Comment

Re: Ico and Shadow remakes confirmed
I doubt you'll see Sony re-release like the original SOCOM or anything along those lines due to old netcodes.
And MS would have gotten killed had they released Halo 1 in HD and achievements, but kept multiplayer offline.
So it's not really an easy out for them.
Sony has had fantastic single player first party games over the years, makes this an easy sell and a good idea.
MS, not so much.Comment

Halo 1 yes, Halo 2 would be hard because of it's netcode.

Single player games are fairly simple to update, multiplayer not so much.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

MS, not so much.Yeah...they can't just integrate it with Xbox Live easily...that's why when shutting off the old games was such a big deal (I think some people were playing Halo 2 for over 90 hours straight just to keep it alive).

Re: Ico and Shadow remakes confirmed
I for one don't know how easy it would have been to do the multi-player. I honestly think they could have left it out and just delivered single-player. I also feel that if they want the money bad enough, they could have delivered whatever. It might have taken a while to get it to work with the current format, but I'm sure they are knowledgeable enough to make it happen.Comment

Re: Ico and Shadow remakes confirmed
GamePro Preview
Point in development cycle: The title looks well on its way to being ready for its spring 2011 release date.My take: Due to the constantly evolving nature of the industry, few gaming experiences match our rose-colored memories of them when measured against today's horsepower-pushing standards. Ico and Shadow, however, stand up remarkably well.
I witnessed the opening moments of the nearly-decade-old Ico and was floored by its age-defying presentation. No doubt helped by the hi-def boost, textures are crisp, character models detailed, and environments postcard-perfect. While the HD certainly adds a heavy coat of polish, it's also a testament to Ueda's original vision--one that should have settled the "Can videogames be considered art?" argument years ago--that these games can still effectively sting the senses.
Even more impressive than Ico in HD, is Colossus in 3D. I've seen current-gen powerhouses such as Killzone 3 and MotorStorm Apocalypse come alive in three dimensions, but this was the first title that actually had my mind justifying the steep price of a hardware upgrade. The Sony rep providing the demo said Ueda always envisioned Colossus as a 3D game; after seeing one of the screen-stretching bosses taken down behind the slick specs, it's easy to see why. The game's built-in sense of scale and sweeping presentation seems like a perfect fit for the tech. From subtler touches, such as your horse kicking dirt back at you, to the more in-your-face cinematic encounters with the game's titular giants, Colossus could become the poster child for the fledgling technology.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment
