Keep or Trade games?
Any of you guys keep games just to have the whole series or do you trade them in right after you beat it . For instance i have uncharted 1 and 2 And i beat them both but refuse to trade them in. Am i nuts or are there others that do the same?DallasCowboys 4 LifeTags: None -
Re: Keep or Trade games?
The only games I ever trade in are ones I either do not like(and will not bother to finish) or ones that have big freezing problems. I love to keep games I enjoyed, even if I were to never play them again. I like to have the option to play them, and if I traded them in I know I'd regret it because I always want what I don't got. -

Re: Keep or Trade games?
I keep them all and what ever I don't like I just pass down to my younger brother since I get way more games then him on a regular basis. Plus sometimes ya know you might have a itch to play a game again.
Like after I beat Mafia 2, I played Godfather 2 again because I had an itch to play it. Or like if I see any espionage movie then I immediately want to play Splinter Cell or Alpha Protocal again.Comment

Re: Keep or Trade games?
I liked NHL 11 a lot, but since NBA 2K11 is out I haven't touched it. So I used that game as a down payment towards Black Ops.
Usually, I don't trade games in though. But, lately there have been a lot of good games coming out at once.Comment

I usually keep them. I just can't see paying $60 for a game and then a few months later trading it in at a retailer that offers me $2 for it.Comment

Re: Keep or Trade games?
I probably end up selling at least 4 out of every 5 games that I buy. I'll hold on to top notch games like an Uncharted 2 or GTA 4, but most of my games end up on Ebay before too long. Even the sports games end up being sold by the time the next year's version rolls out.
Not really sure why anyone would trade their games in to a place like gamestop, unless maybe it's just purely for the convenience. Why sell a fairly new game to gamestop for 25 bucks max when you can sell it yourself for almost full price? Now, more than everComment

Re: Keep or Trade games?
Final Fantasy from 7 on minus the 2 online ones (haven't played those)
Star Ocean full series (though I did sell the PSP remake of the first one back because I have other means of playing it)
Kingdom Hearts I and II (HIGH probability of playing these again after Birth By Sleep)
Xenosaga series
Valkyria Chronicles
Eternal Sonata
Dragon Quest 8
Oh....and the whole Metal Gear Solid series including Peace Walker. All 4 but the latter playable on my PS3.
In addition, there are a few sports games I probably won't ever sell due to fond memories (MLB '06 The Show, Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds) or because they still stand up well to today's titles (All-Pro Football 2k8, College Hoops 2k8).Last edited by bcruise; 10-18-2010, 08:47 AM.Comment

Re: Keep or Trade games?
Keep every game I get pretty much as I sometimes get the itch to play an older game. I like being able to throw in NBA 2k6 or 2k7 just to see how they played back in the day.
2nd hand prices are rubbish too so for the small amount of coin I'd get, would rather keep them.Comment

Re: Keep or Trade games?
I sell back most of my games on Ebay.I never trade in games. The last time I traded a game in was probably 7 or 8 years ago. There a few games I keep like DJ Hero, Rock Band 2, Legends of Wrestlemania, and College Hoops 2k8. There are a few games like Assassins Creed 2 and Uncharted 1 and 2 that I wish I would have not sold now. I actually will probably end up buying Uncharted 2 Game of the Year edition.Comment

Re: Keep or Trade games?
I only keep 1-2 games at a time, so yeah trade-in / sell games towards new games. With amazon it has worked well as they usually give you $10-$20 towards a new game, and with the $20-$30 trade-in from an old game, I never end up paying more than $40 for a game...sometimes as low as $20 (right now I have Assassin's Creed Brotherhood pre-ordered for $17 with a $20 coupon from pre-ordering MoH, and $23 from trade in credit).
The way I play, I rather put hours and hours into really really really great games, instead of a few hours in a bunch of good games.Comment

Re: Keep or Trade games?
I keep them all. As a matter of fact, my wife and I are refocusing our energy to making the entertainment setup more efficient. I bought an Atlantic Parade Storage for my games and movies so I can have room for the books on the shelf. I usually have an itch to play old games. I figure that I can lend them to friends who I know might be interested.Comment
