Yeah, you just make your own custom playlist on your PS3 and then add it EA Sports Active in game.

You can add music for exercise + music for cooling down post exercise. Very easy to do.

        Xbox 360 Kinect

My impressions after my first full workout.

I decided to do the 3 week cardio workout with light weights to just learn the basics before I do the full blown 9 week program. The initial start has you working out 4 days per week doing what appears to be 20 minute sessions that include warming up and cool down stretches. The heart rate monitor is pretty cool as at times my heart rate would hang around the 153 zone. Seems that you will need the controller at times to exit past the tutorials. I chose the "hard" program just to see how much it would push me. My first workout felt like a starter / beginner program which is fine since I do need to ease into it. I want to make sure that I get the basics down and than adjust from there.

There were a few pain in the rear issues that kept popping up in the beginning that frustrated me. At the beginning of some of the exercises such as push ups or jumps, it tended to lose my identity and required the need to sign back in for the program to recognize me. I think I may have figured it out as you need to stand still at the beginning of every exercise (standing) before going to the actual exercise such as push ups, crunches, ect. Once I started doing that, it no longer would lose my identity. It kept saying that my lighting was not good and that could have been the case. Tomorrow I will try it while there is still light outside which should allow in plenty of light since I have 5 windows in that particular room. I did tonight's workout with the overhead lights on which are more for soft lighting.

It comes with a green band for resistance training. Personally I don't think it is adequate as I have my own high quality resistance bands and free weights to really work my muscles.

I noticed ZERO lag as it seemed almost 1:1 the entire time. It recognized my push ups, crunches, side to side and forward / back jumps perfectly. The one thing I did notice is that you will need to do the exercises around the 7 foot range for it to perform flawlessly.

Total calories burned 134 with the first workout 100% completed. Btw: not a big deal but the warm up and cool down stretches are not tracked using the kinect.

This evening I am going to do two sessions to really put this to the test. My quads are really sore from doing the weighted squats. Outside of that, no other soreness. I played the demo of Your Shape and now I see what true 1:1 is. The demo alone does a much better job of recognizing me even down to the logo or words on my shirt.

Also played the demo of Dance Central and now I am starting to see much more polished games than what I am seeing with Active 2. I'm still not sure if it is worth the $100 price tag but I should have a better idea over the next few workout sessions.

I took Active 2 back. Just wasn't going to use it. For the same price I can use Your Shape and Dance Central instead. Plus the wife is enjoying those 2 much more.

Is anyone still playing Active 2.0? I picked it up at Walmart for $25 for the 360. Was wondering if anyone is still using it or has given up?

Congrats on the weight loss. I can't believe at one point EA was charging $99 for this when it came out if some people are not liking it.

It really is. LOL! Took me less than a year to drop 50 lbs, which I have gained about 10 of it back. I need to start doing some exercising or working out....sure as hell do not need that weight coming back.
