Final Fantasy XIII (13) and it's not even close. I have looked forward to that game for years and it ended up being an abomination.

I'm going to have to agree, complete disappointment.

A close second might be Gray Matter, I expected a whole lot more from that one.

I'll have to add Mafia II to the disappointments list, not that I didn't enjoy it, I did, but I expected more from it. It fell a bit short in story, polish and gameplay.

I made this thread to see what, in your opinion has been the most disappointing game of this year. There were alot of good games this year IMO and I was curious.

Please leave an explanation with your choice.

My pick would have to be Fallout NV.

The biggest reason is how it was basically unplayable for me, freezing every 20 minutes, people floating everywhere, character models disappearing...etc. Maybe after patched I will be more impressed with it but as it stands now I am the most disappointed with this game out of all the others I have purchased this year....At least this one stands out the most.

Another thing is how graphically it was exactly the same as Fallout 3 and priced as $60.

Thats my opinion, whats yours?

I have to agree with Fallout New Vegas. I was really really looking forward to this game and was dissapointed with how poor it was on the PS3. Constant freezing and bugs. I know Fallout 3 was known for these issues, but I didn't have anywhere near the problems with FO3 that I had with New Vegas, and I played FO3 90 hours more.

Same here. The save bug issue has wasted over 10 hours of play for me and I refuse to keep starting over.

UFC Undisputed 2010 and nothing else is even close. UFC 09 was such a good game especially for it being the first game in the series. Maybe I was expecting to much from 2010. Somehow 2010 felt like a step back.

Fallout New Vegas for PS3.

Loved it while I could play it but after a while it froze every 20 minutes. It eventually lead to the demise of my original Ps3. I lost everything except a single RTTS Save.

It's disappointing because the dev team should have seen these issues coming. There was a poll recently that asked if the ability to create patches hurt initial product quality. I voted no. This game has made me think twice about that answer.

6 months ago I would have said Final Fantasy 13. The first time I played it I hated the gameplay. I really enjoyed it my 2nd time through though.

So I'll go with Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. No open ended game play, limited customizations options, and the cop part of the game was just boring.

For me, even though I'm still playing the game, it's GT5. I didn't play many games this year, but was looking forward to this after 5 years. Just feel like so many design decisions hold this game back and they kind of built up. It's not the worst game I played by any stretch, but it was definitely the most disappointing to me after the long wait.

Second place is probably Backbreaker. Thought it would be better than it was.

im actually very disappointed in the latest version of Call of Duty. Can't say the game sucks or anything, but i think it's regressed a lot.

I would say Medal of Honor... Probably was a victim of it's own brand name, though... The multiplayer was essentially Battlefield on small Call of Duty sized maps: two types of game play that doesn't mesh together so well. General singleplayer had some old school animations and player control that felt very last-gen... It's the type of game that makes you appreciate the higher framerates that the CoD games always had.
