I just started playing the game for the first time last night. When the DLC comes out will it be incorporated into my current game or will I have to start over to get the new ending?

What save game should I load to play the Extended Cut?

[SPOILERS] To experience the Extended Cut, load a save game from before the attack on the Cerberus Base and play through to the end of the game. The Extended Cut endings will differ depending on choices made throughout the Mass Effect series, so multiple playthroughs with a variety of different decisions will be required to experience the variety of possibilities offered by the new content.

It'll just blend right in with your current playthrough.

Finished the game at 3am yesterday. Not sure exactly what happened. I tried to ignore the talk about the ending so I wouldn't have a bias, but wow. I need to replay the end to try and figure out what happened. Overall the game disappointed me.

It it weird that I really have no interest in the extended cut? Even if its free I'm not excited at all to watch some extra cutscenes. I wonder if Bioware would have been better off just leaving the ending as is. The outrage over the ending has died down, but this DLC is likely going to get everyone up in arms again when it doesn't end the way they wanted.

I don't think it's weird. I am done with playing this game. I will probably watch the extended scenes on Youtube when they are posted

Bioware made the game a no-win situation. The reapers were overwhelmingly powerful and nothing the current group of space traveling species did could stop the cycle. Would you all be as upset with the ending if there was no possible way to beat the reapers? Throughout the whole game I got an impending sense of doom and always wanted some gamemakers to go against the conventional "winning" at the end of a game. Some situations are impossible and this felt like it should have been one of them.

(Putting it in spoilers in case people haven't finished the game yet and don't want to know what does or doesn't happen.)

this will be the case with the Extended Cut. Regardless of the "breathing scene" if you get the best Destroy ending, Shepard seems destined to die. Some of the Extended Cut pictures seem to add to this.

If the extended cut does a better job of pulling the ending together and explaining what really happened, i'll be fine with it.

But then again, I didn't have a huge problem with the ending as it was.

I feel exactly the same. I was fine with the ending, but am interested to see where the extended cut takes it. I'm playing through again right now.

Im started playing through again on insanity and will take my time so that the DLC has dropped by the time I reach the ending.

I'm still playing multiplayer every other weekend too when the events are happening. This weekend is a little weird since I don't really like any of the classes that are needed to complete the goals but thats ok, its forcing me out of my comfort zone.

People wouldn't hate it quite as bad as they hate the current ending, but it would be pretty close. You can do that in a movie, T.V. show, or book, but that won't work in a game.

Even if the main character dies, the big bad has to go down too, and things have to be hopeful for the future. People don't want to invest 45 to 100 hours on series only to get hit with a Kobayashi Maru ending.

I think a lot of people were just upset/confused with a brand new character being introduced to be the big "bad guy" at the last 5 minutes of the Trilogy. that would be like finding out that the Emperor in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi ended up as not being the Sith Lord and a brand new guys jumps in and says "I'm actually the Sith Lord, Palpatine was just under my control".

that and the ending left a lot of plot holes, which most likely wont be cleared up by the extended cut. I mean, pretty much the whole plot in ME1 is made invalid by the catalyst if you take the ME3 ending at face value.

if the catalyst was the citadel the entire time, there was no need for sovereign to even exist. at least with the information that is given.

I guess I still wait and see what the extended cut offers, I just don't really seeing it clearing up a lot of the concerns some people have. if only EA would have let them work and not put them on such a tight deadline, most of this ending stuff wouldn't have be an issue.

Some guys here have moved on, and don't care about the ExCut, but the Bio boards and other boards about the web, indicated that for most ME3 players, the ending is still an open wound.

It's kind of sad and ironic, but regardless of how good or bad the content of tomorrow's release is, it will provide more entertainment then a great ending of ME3 ever could have. I expect hundreds to be banned from the Bioware boards, threads will be locked every minute, scores of new memes and YouTube vids will be spawned, its going to be quite the spectacle.

They fixed their EMS error. You now need 3100 to get everything. No more multiplayer or editing required. Seems too low now actually.

You don't need any MP at all? Have a link? I'm at 50% readiness cause I haven't played online yet...thought I'd have to put in a couple online hours...
