    Hey man,

I don't know if you're still interested or not, but I just got my PC built and ME2 installed.

    I followed the instructions here:

Also, under the saves directory, I made folders with the names of my Shepards and then put the files in there (so, it's Documents>Bioware>Mass Effect 2>Save>Sheppard Folder>Save Files).

A post further down in the link recommends renaming your save files once you've converted them, and I did that as well (I simply changed them to "save_0001" thru "save_0015").

Then, I downloaded DLC for the PC version to match what I had with the X360 version (you apparently don't have to do this and can use Gibbed's Save Editor to make the saves not DLC dependent. I wanted the DLC though, so I have no idea if that route works for sure)

Here's the link to the page with Gibbed's editor DL:

mass, effect, masseffect, mass effect, saves, save, savegame, savegames, annakie, PC, commander, shepard, commander shepard, mods, coalesced.ini, screenshots, screenshot, kaidan, alenko, ashley, liara, t'soni, urdnot, wrex, garrus, vakarian, tali, tali'zorah, thane, krios, jack, subjectzero, subject, zero, miranda, jacob, taylor, grunt, samara, legion, mass effect saves, import, rename, renaming, me2, coalesced.ini

Anyway, I checked through all my saves, played around in the game, menus, combat, etc and everything loaded up without a hitch.

Oh, and for anyone used to playing ME with a controller, here's a video that explains how to do so (along with the pros and cons):

The links to the files posted with the video are dead, but here's a working one:

I tested it out myself and in addition to the issues mentioned in the video, there is some weirdness with reading the L Stick in the main menu (directions are calibrated wrong or something), but other than those it's definitely a workable alternative. Note that the traditional keyboard and mouse setup works quite well though.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that through the save converter you can check and edit your decisions for quite a few events from both ME1 and ME2. I didn't mess around with it (as I was happy with my setup) but I checked it against my decisions and it seemed good to go.

My review, get this game. That's all that needs to be said. And as for the story being 15 hours and 40 hours total. They had to be speed runs. There's so much stuff you do to help the galaxy awareness percentage. Anything from stumbling over some tech a random guy on the citadel was looking for to bigger things all effect it. Great, deep, well put together game. So much stuff cad so much replay ability based off situations in the previous two.

And to answer the question yes the game starts off where the demo did.

Hope that satisfied some of you guys hunger.

      *Goes back to playing* Lol.

The questions are fairly straight-forward and you won't obviously be making every decision in text format that you would have made in the previous two games. Mass Effect 3 makes plenty of assumptions along the way and has a sort of "canon" approach for those who don't import.

This is true and I should have mentioned, I was caught up thinking "Interactive Comic" It did give me the option to make a few decisions.

Got about 2 hrs in now and I am loving this one

Action packed and the storyline is really imo. Fellows RUN to the store tomorrow night and grab this one. I picked it up for PS3 and I'm impressed with the framerate as it has not really been an issue for me.

Tried to go online but no one is on yet so can't comment on that.

Damn shame I got MLB 12 The Show and Unit 13 early because the are being mistreated right now. I haven't even opened up Unit 13 because of this GOT DANG GOOD $$$ GAME!!!

I have never been this excited to get a game. I am even considering going to the midnight release around 10 to make sure i'm not stuck in the back of the line.

Just pre-ordered Mass Effect 3 online from Gamestop along with MLB The Show. I also picked up Mass Effect 2 for $19. I plan to go through ME2 first, as that seems to be the recommendation from many gamers I've talked to online.

I'm going to be so swamped with games come Tuesday. Don't know whether that is a good thing or a bad thing. There is no way I can NOT have this on day one though.

Everything is probably going to have to take a back seat to this. Psyched for Tuesday.

I have officially stopped myself from trying to get ME3 on launch day. I know it's a highly anticipated game, but I want to have all the DLC that they plan on releasing. I regret playing through ME2 before the DLC came out for it.
