I've not finished the game yet, but nothing I've seen seems to indicate there's an extra special ending hidden somewhere.

Re: Mass Effect 3
Spoilerthere is no New Game + Ending. You get one of the three choices, or an ending if you have enough war assets where Shepard will "gasp for breath" for a second, then it fades to black.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
SpoilerWhere the hell did organics vs synthetics can't live together come from anyway? I JUST PROVED THEY COULD. It was a terrible ****ing ending, no matter how you slice it.
I wasn't expecting a "and everything was okay" ending, but man - give me some ****ing closure. And cmon, nothing we did mattered. Nothing at all. It all got shoehorned into one bull**** ending and, because of what happened to the galaxy, none of the galaxy's problems you fixed matter. Genophage? Doesn't matter. Geth/Quarian? Doesn't matter.Last edited by soltrain; 03-11-2012, 12:58 AM.Michigan WolverinesChicago White SoxComment

Re: Mass Effect 3
If there is, it isn't a cutscene. As for the ending...

If it controlled the Reapers then why did Sovereign have to manually connect with the Citadel in ME1 to open the arms to allow the Reapers to return from dark space? Also, why did Sovereign have to act as the Vanguard for the Reapers period? It should have just opened by itself, no signal needed to be sent, no docking necessary.
Plus, the whole the Reapers are doing the cycle to prevent a technological singularity makes no sense in comparison to your conversation with Sovereign in ME1. There are a lot of other points that can be made, but overall the ending in ME3 doesn't really connect with the story in the first two games at all.Oklahoma State Cowboys 2011 Big XII Champions, 2012 Fiesta Bowl Champions

SpoilerNo, she wasn't going to come on either way, she was always going to stay with the kids. I haven't gotten far enough to see if there's a consequence depending on which role you throw them on though. You can meet up with Jack again on the Citadel though.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Javik's *******ish lines coupled with his accent makes everything he says hilarious.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
As to the ending:
SpoilerI am sure this game ended as Bioware intended. Those who are upset do not understand the depth of the ending. Bioware wanted Shepard to go out as a legend and rightfully so. Shepard's last heroic act in her lifetime was to sacrifice herself to save the galaxy. Is there anything more heroic than that? Yes, I can see how most would have liked for her to survive. We had a lot of time invested in that character. Most probably developed an emotional tie with her. Mass Effect greatness was built off of the story line and the emotional ups and downs of it. I for one have never felt such emotion as I did when playing this series.
I played this game on insane mode from start to finish. The game was an incredibly difficult grind. I was tired and exhausted from the pounding I was taking toward the end; endless waves of banshees and brutes followed by the grind just to get to the beam. I noticed late in the game, for the first time in the series, Shepard was experiencing exhaustion and the mental drain from wear and tear the war was inflicting on her. She was experiencing doubts about whether this war against the reapers could actually be won. She had nothing left at the end. All of her friends were gone. All of the galaxy civilizations were all but wiped out. She could have just died on the platform but her commitment was so strong to her objective, with her last dying breaths, she made the ultimate sacrifice to end the war, stop the cycle, and save the galaxy for not only the current generation, but for the future generations as well. I honestly could have not asked for a better ending to this series and to my "legendary" Shepard.
If she would have survived, what then? What would be the alternate ending? Some cliche cannon scene that wipes the galaxy free from the reapers, allowing man kind to rebuild? Shepard goes on to become some great military leader, and retires to a beach somewhere? No sir, I will take it as it is. Shepard and her team go down as true legendary heroes, talked about for generations to come.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
As to the Citadel:
SpoilerPost like this just make it clear that you have a gross misunderstanding or are unclear about the story behind the reapers, what their purpose is, and how they go about achieving their purpose. If you had an opportunity to play mass effect 1, you would have realized that the citadel was much more than just a space station. Remember, the reapers had all but won on earth and were finalizing the harvest of the human species. The space station was built by the reapers, or the catalyst and used as a tool for completion of the harvest. The space station was moved by the reapers, as it had been in the past to complete that harvest. They used it to transport the victims of the reapers from the ground for processing (kind of like one of those mobile processing ships you see on Deadliest Catch.) Once the harvest is complete, the space station is moved back and sits idle for another 50,000 years until the cycle repeats itself.Last edited by SECElit3; 03-11-2012, 01:17 PM.Comment
