Who actually pays real money for those packs anyway?

I noticed this week they removed the ability to pay real $ for the packs, on PS3 anyway. I thought that was really strange decision for EA/BW.

I don't get why people dropped real money on packs anyway. It's a semi-random loot system with most guns not being useful on Silver or Gold difficulty. Sure it's nice to have a Widow X at N7 level 35, but it takes the incentive out of continuing to play the MP.

          Re: Mass Effect 3

I agree completely. The overall goal of the MP is to get the credits and buy better gear (even if it is random). Having that Widow X at N7 35 isn't instantly going to make you a good player anyway.

It's exciting to earn the credits and anticipate that next Premium Spectre Pack unboxing. Throwing down $100 would be no fun. But you know people did it, and to each their own I guess.

Who actually pays real money for those packs anyway? The only DLC I will actually be downloading is the extended cut. After that Mass Effect is dead to me along with Bioware.

            Spoiler

            These are my opinions anyway
No I'm 90% sure that the ending was caused by the leak. A leak to the ME 3 ending was released about Dark Energy (Which would of been a lot better than the one we got) and I believe bioware panicked and scraped it which caused them to come up with the ending we have today.

                Re: Mass Effect 3

Not trying to change games, but I just started playing Mass Effect 1 and I am finding it to be very hard. This is the first FPS that I have ever played, and I really, really suck at it.

I am scared to read about Mass Effect on the internet for fear of spoilers for 1, 2, and 3.

In short, does anyone have any general tips/hints for not getting killed all the time?

I am really enjoying this and I like that it is hard, just wondering if there are a few things that would save me from getting killed all the time. I am playing as a soldier.

                Thanks.

                  1) Put it on casual. Don't worry about "street cred." If it makes the game more manageable and enjoyable, drop the difficulty.

                  2) I forget what the power is called but it grants you this power called Immunity. Level that up. It makes you really hard to kill.

                  3) Make sure you're equipped with the best guns and ammo. As a soldier, you can concentrate on leveling up your assault rifle before worry about other weapons.

                  4) Once you get 1 million credits I believe, you can buy Spectre weapons which are the best guns.

                  5) Make sure you bring someone with high electronics and decryption (Garrus, Kaidan, Tali) as if you level those powers for your squadmates, you can unlock more things and collect loot.

Lastly, it's a TPS (Third person shooter) and not an FPS (First person shooter).

                  Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help. As far as TPS and FPS, you can see how lost I am!!! I will keep banging it out and hopefully get the hang of it.

You know, I don't think enough people out there ever really think about this in regards to any video game. As I've gotten older, I've embraced this way of thinking more and more. Rather than frustrate the hell out of myself playing a video game, why not just enjoy it? I like a good challenge but if I'm not enjoying myself, what's the point? Dial down the difficulty. Get as much out of the game as you want to.

I am definitely the opposite...I jack every new game I play up to it's most difficult settings. I just don't have fun unless I am challenged. New Game plus on insanity is where it is at IMO!

Wouldn't an Insanity run with a fresh character (level 1) be where's it's at?

Not necessarily... Although new game plus starts you off at max level with all of your abilities, it also starts the enemy off at max level. So you get a consistent challenge from your enemies throughout the ENTIRE game.

I don't know. I beat Insanity on NG+ with my Engineer who had leveled up powers, guns, and with customized armor and the only section that was hard was that outdoor part of Grissom Academy. Even the Brute/Banshee spam at the very end was as hard as that one part (damn Cerberus Engineers). I haven't tried it (my Engineer was imported) but I can't see how having weak guns and weak (or no) powers being easier then a NG+ character.
