Same here ... it is a great game, but the convenience of not having to put the DVD in, and Steam all having things nicely listed is great.

This well definitely motivate me to play through it, since the sequel coming out late next year looks AMAZING!

I want the Crysis and Crysis Warhead to be cheaper, I hope they do a $5 one day sale on them, that is another boxed game (I have Crysis Maximum) that I want on my Steam lists.

Today I just bought The Witcher and could not pass up Puzzle Quest for $1.50 ... 1920x1200 =

I am still on the fence about Burnout though, I have a Logitech GT coming from my GF for Xmas for GT5, but it works on the PC as well ... I am more into the sim side, the most fun arcade racer I played the last few years was PGR 3 and 4 on the 360.

So either Burnout or maybe even Shift or Grid on the PC. Decisions, decisions. Any suggestions from anyone on that aspect?

Anyone ever play the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games? always wanted to check them out.

Also since I'm new to PC gaming with a laptop that can play decent stuff I'm looking for a list of maybe 8-10 games that I should look into. Not stuff like Borderlands, BC2 etc. Games that are really PC specific or that are just much better to play on the PC.

        I already have
        Mass Effect 1 & 2
        Fallout 3 & New Vegas
        Dragon Age

        thanks for any suggestions!!!
Don't blame me for what those nitwits said...They don't speak for me!!!

You seem to like RPGs, The Wither is very good, and well worth the $5 price point!

Ok, I know this is a bit off-topic, but anyone here can PM me (so we don't hijack the thread) info on the best software to use on a Mac to play PC games? I've seen some but if anyone has experience with any, it would help. And I'm done hijacking.

You buy digital copies of PC games and install them directly to your HD.(simplified explanation)

Agreed with all of this. Can't wait to really get into The Witcher, but with all these holiday sales, I've got a backlog of something like 25 games right now. Crap.

I'd also love to have Crysis on Steam as opposed to on disc.

But yeah that pretty much sums it up. You sign up for an account on Steam, then download the Steam program onto your computer. It basically acts as a download client and it's where you access/download/install/run your games from. Very convenient. No physical copies of games, it's all digital. The games are tied to your Steam account, not your computer. So if you ever bought a new PC or upgrade it, all you'd really have to do is reinstall Steam and redownload/install the games, I think. It's pretty cool and I like it for the convenience.

I never dreamed Steam would turn into something like this, way back when it was nothing more than an update platform for Counter-Strike. It's just amazing what it's become.

It's included in the EA sale already,it's only $15 now for the deluxe edition. So is Crysis but that's $23 or $30 to get it with Warhead.

                        Today is...

The Witcher for $5 as mentioned
                        Bioshock 2 $10
                        Burnout Paradise Ultimate box $5
                        Resident Evil 5 $10.20
Tomb Raider Guardian of Light $5.10

and some other stuff I haven't heard of.

Also criminally underated, undersold, underplayed Beyond Good & Evil is only $7.50 as part of the Ubisoft sale. Splinter Cell Conviction also under the Ubisoft sale for $22.49 in case you missed it earlier in the year. NBA 2K11 by itself is only $20.09 if you don't have it yet for some reason.

I have Beyond Good & Evil (box form) from when it first came out on PC years ago. Great game, and screenshots of the rumored sequel look amazing. Hope they still have plans to revisit it!
