Re: Modern Warfare 3 PS3/360
This may be the hardest COD, but since I have been playing Dark Souls, I am kind of a sucker for the challenge nowadays..haha.
I will have a bunch of great rounds and think I am doing great and then BAM, 3 in a row where I just get crushed before righting the ship again.
All I can say is it helps me to have about 3 different gun setups. If I get killed 3 straight times, I make the switch.Comment

The maps for this game are IMO awful. I've never played two worse maps in a CoD game than Dome and Carbon. Even Bloc from CoD4 was better than those two by a mile.NFL - Giants]

Dome I don't mind so much. Its the "tiny" map for this game. I prefer it over Nuketown, Rust, or Shipment. Courtyard is still my favorite tiny map.Comment

Re: Modern Warfare 3 PS3/360
I agree about Carbon. Too much clutter and too many spots to check. It would probably be ok if you got rid of all that catwalk crap in the middle. They just get in the way of what could be some nice open sightlines.

On a brighter note, I do like Outpost and LockdownNFL - Giants]

Yeah Outpost is one of my favorites.
My top 5 at this point would be Outpost, Interchange, Fallen, Village, and Seatown.
Arkaden, Carbon, and Downturn are my bottom 3.
And fish I'm just now remembering all the names after around 200+ matches.Comment

Re: Modern Warfare 3 PS3/360
Man, I am so up and down. I'm like this with all versions of COD until I get more experience under my belt. I'll have one or two games where I get on a roll, then i'll start the next game like 0 and 7. I don't let it bother me though. It's still a blast.
If it's anything like BlOps, i'll get the hang of it sooner than later, and steadily increase my skill. It's mostly just learning the maps.Comment

Mission = Waterfall
Hardhat = Pipes
That's all I know, there is a map with buses, and one I call Baraka but can't remember what is on that map.Comment

Re: Modern Warfare 3 PS3/360
I don't know if the DLC will scream of variety. Nobody does.
Whenever a game gets insanely popular, people who own the company figure out more ways to profit off of that. That is basic business.
Not sure your point about Valve. Last time I checked, L4D had dloadable content that you had to purchase.
You want the indie band who plays the small shows and hangs out afterwords with you. Well if they write enough great songs,that goes away because they play bigger venues and have to leave when the show is over to get to the next one. It's just how it is.
Video games will continue to make more and more money off of content downloads, because for a while many were losing on trade ins and used purchases.
You can still profit without raking your fanbase who got you to where you were across the coals for every little cent.
Maps were ALWAYS free and STILL free on the PC for almost every popular FPS title, accept Activision games now, and soon to be EA.
The only reason you paid for the maps for L4D was because MSFT was not allowing Valve to list them for free on Live. Same complaint E-PIC has with Gears... they say they would like to offer more free stuff, but MSFT would not allow it. Thus they will obviously happily take money from the people who will pay for it, while still giving away everything for their games on the PC for FREE.
UT for the PS3 had tons of free mod support from E-PIC in which MSFT would not allow on the 360.
ALL the L4D1/2 maps and add-ons were FREE on the PC. And then there is the mod community.
It is the new console DLC generation, which MSFT ushered in and paved the way, as to why we all of a sudden have $100+ games now to get their full potentials.
I will bet my left arm the map packs will scream "variety" over the in the box offerings. This is too transparent.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment
