LOL. If all our troops were overseas running and gunning, how many troops would we have left? I know it's only a video game, but the concept still applies. There's nothing wrong with camping in non-objective based games.

Now if the player on the opposite team wants to camp , well go right ahead becaues you are really hurting your team

Team death match. I have no problems with players camping, and search and destroy.

I really dont mind going against campers, but I have a problem if someone on my team is doing it, and not helping with the objective.
I will largely agree, but if somebody is just sitting in the corner of a room for five minutes, waiting for somebody to appear in a doorway to shoot them, that is unwelcomed camping. If somebody is on their back end of the map as a sniper, I don't call that camping, I call that sniping.

Highrise in MW2 was prone (no pun intended) to having snipers look across the map at opposing players coming out from their building at the other end, and people complained about it. I see no problem with that, seeing that they are vulnerable to attacks themselves, and one shot will immediately reveal to everyone where that person is.

But yes, if you're camping during a team objective game to increase a pointless K/D ratio (at least for the sake of said objective), then you're bothering me and many others.

Just hope there are some people running and gunning in your lobby though. If not, you will have people sitting in corners the whole game waiting for someone to move. I am impatient as hell, so if I camp it is only because I am trying to recover some health.

I agree. Camping in my mind is just what you set. Setting up a tent, scope on the one place a person can come and shooting them. This has no strategy involved whatsoever. I don't consider staying in one area while moving camping. I consider someone laying down in a corner or area with one place for people to get him, with the scope on that area. Sniping is a different story, if I get killed by a sniper, I tip my cap. Camping requires no skill, no strategy, nothing. What you guys are thinking I'm talking about is if someone is in a room and they end up killing me time after time. That's my fault. I'm talking about the guy who sits in a corner with a silencer and assassin. I agree with what you guys said though. This isn't a shot at anyone who said camping has strategy, I'm just saying my meaning of camping.

I hope my new 60 inch tv can help me out here...btw, I'm about to get on, let's get some OS'ers in a party and roll on PS3!

What are your guys thoughts on camping in objective games, if it is contributing to the overall game?

Personally, me and my clan have strategies where once we secure our two flags in Dom, we set up a rotation of spots where we camp and lock down those two flags. Same goes for Demo and Sabotage. Personally I don't see that as camping, I see that as strategy and securing the objective.

I concur with what you are all saying though. The guy that sits in the corner of one room, aimed at the doorway waiting for someone to walk through doing nothing else, those people can eat glass.

Imo camping an objective is a spotty topic, I "patrol" objectives instead of sit in one spot. I can't really look down on the other sense it's a play style that's not gonna disappear. So I've learned to deal with anything that happens...

If you are camping to guard a flag or bomb then that's not camping, thats strategic playing. If you sit in a corner with your heartbeat sensor away from any of the objectives, then you are a bitch who should just go play team deathmatch.

                  This.

I have no problem with people "camping" objectives, bomb sites, flags, etc. But, when I see a guy prone, in a corner, sights aimed at a doorway, that's camping.

There is noting wrong with this. You earned the right to now defend the objective in that manner, and it is now up to the opposing team to eliminate the defense and take the objective back.

It would be foolish to stand on the objective to defend it. What you do is perfectly fine

What you do in my eyes does not fit the description of camping. It is intelligent play.

I agree. I love when I'm defending an objective and kill someone trying to take it, and I'm called a camper. Did you expect to just walk up and and take the damn flag with no resistance?

My strategy has always been to patrol certain areas of the map and I usually stay to the perimeter of the map.

I'm only playing MW3 during peak hours from here on out. I tried to get a game in before work (around 7am), and I got raped every round. I guess if you're up that early/late you must be pretty hard core.

                              This.

One of the reasons I wanted your guys opinion. We play a lot of team tac. Just last night we absolutely demolished these kids in dom. I don't think they got to 80 points. 3 on 4 mind you because we have a 3 person clan.

But we were switching up our patrol spots, around the flags and at the end they were bitching and moaning because we were camping. Smh. I got a good laugh out of it though.

If you play from 10am-4pm thats when all the people that do nothing but play the game are on. It's always a landmine.
