Obliviion was M. I agree the shock value is gone. But also the avaiable information out there is outstanding. But does the average gamer do his homework before purchasing games? Or do they look at the box and see rated M for blood gore nudity and language and say I gotta have this?

Well in most places games are locked up nowadays so you really can't just grab them and look at the box. So for the most part people just buy games they heard of before because it is a sequel or they buy a game they seen the commercial for.

That is why games that they really didn't have a lot of commercials don't sale well.

No, I don't care what a game is rated.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

No. I want a good game, could care less on the age rating.

Oblivion was T on release(the copy I have says T) but it got revised shortly after to an M rating.

To answer the question, no. If it's a good game, I'll play it whether it's rated E, T, M, whatever. I hardly even pay attention to the ratings anymore.

Never have, even when the ratings were theoretically supposed to prevent me from buying certain games.

Doesn't effect my purchases, but I suspect almost all of my games would be rated M except for those purchased on XBLA.

Never really considered the rating to influence if I would play/buy it or not.

I've never once checked a rating for a game I bought for myself. It does influence what I buy my kids however but not my own purchases.

With that said. Lego Star Wars III this week!!

I forget they even have a rating, 'til they ask for my ID at gamestop..

I'm clearly old enough, but I guess policy is policy.
