Went into Gamestop today and picked up the following for $50.00. I had $10 in credit to bring it to $50. All 3 games were for the PS3.

    UFC Undisputed 10
    Red Dead Redemption
    Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare
Saturday Night Lights NCAA 14 Sim OD for PS3

I got some oldies that I missed out on for 50 bucks:

      Little Big Planet GOTY Edition
      CoD: World At War
      Modnation Racers

Plus I got Borderlands GOTY Edition for 20 bucks new online from Gamestop that came in today too. I think I'm pretty set for a while. :P

Gamestop is a ripoff... I havent purchased a game from them in over a year. Amazon is where it is at. You wait 3 days for shipping whoopdie doo!!! But you get the game 20$ less. I refuse to give Gamestop any of my business anymore.

My son wanted Super Scribblenauts and it was part of the Power Saver Sale. A used copy at Gamestop was $5 less than amazon. And it qualified for B2G1 free.

With the B2G1 sale this weekend I spent $65 ($30 cash and $35 trade in credit) and we ended up with
            Intellivison Lives (DS)
            Toy Story 3 (360)
            Saints Row Double Pack (360)
            Super Scibblenauts (DS)
            Red Faction Guerilla (360)
            IL Sturmovik (360)

GS is very convienent for me. Just because other areas (Store) are cheaper doesn't make another place a "ripoff"
I can get a lot of stuff at CC online cheaper(They have less overhead) than Best Buy. Doesn't make BB a "ripoff"
Anyways the GS prices can be gotten for 10% off used. Plus the many coupons you can get add up. This months I've used a 50.00 off purchase and a 25.00 off purchase. Not to mention the b2g1f promotions etc...

I've made some really great purchases over the years. And the powerup rewards program paid for itself in 1 month. LOVE THE COUPONS!! lol
Furthermore I've gotten a great relationship going with the guys here and have gotten some "perks" also. Can't get that with online.

On the amazon used games prices, add $4 each for shipping.

Your comparing regular prices. My point was during sales I can get some great deals at Gamestop.

Gamestop I shop in store, which I prefer. I can see the condition of my games before buying and hassle free returns within 7 days for any reason.

                      re: Official Gaming Deals Thread

I despise gamestop, at least the one by me. The workers all seem impolite and annoying. I went there for the first time in over a year when I got Dragon Age 2 a month ago because I wanted to trade some stuff in and my goodness it was just unpleasant.

They don't tell you how much each trade-in is worth over the phone so you have to bring them in, and then if you feel like you are getting ripped off you're still like obligated to sell it because you went out of your way to go in there.

If I have a recent release that you're only gonna give me five dollars for because you have a bunch of them, I want to keep it. Tell me if I'm not going to get a lot of credit, instead of just adding it to the total.

Then you're just trying to get out of the darn place, and they won't let you leave without committing to shop there for life.

Me: Can I get dragon age 2 for PS3?
                      GS: Did you preorder it?
                      Me: No.
GS: Here you go, while your here did you want to preorder anything else?
                      Me: No thank you.
GS: You sure, I see you've purchased sports games in the past, if your gonna get NCAA 12, you might as well just put five dollars down now to make sure you get a copy when it comes out. (Like anything other than maybe halo or COD would every completely sell out everywhere.).
Me: Yeah, well that doesn't come out until July, so I'll pass for now.
GS: There are some other big games coming out sooner... Duke Nukem, Brink, La Noire... (The guy then explains to me everything he knows about the games, which isn't much) anything else you'd to preorder?
Me: Not today, if I do I will do it at a later time.
GS: OK... Fair enough, suit yourself. Would you like to become an edge member?
Me: No thank you, I don't shop here enough.
GS: Well, if you buy games the rewards add up... yada yada yada.
                      Me: nah, that's alright.
GS: (20 minutes after I asked for DA2) Ok, here you go... have a good day.

Then, because I had like 35 dollars of credit left over, I ordered Tomb raider trilogy online like a week before it came out. And it has been 2+ weeks since its release and it's backordered still, so I cancelled the order, and sent customer service a nice email about how displeased I am with their company.

                      Sorry, End Rant.

On the other hand Amazon is fantastic for games in my opinion. I got a free year of prime because I am a student back last summer, and you get free two day shipping and 3.99 next-day, and free release day delivery. Plus if you preorder from them, you get 10 or 20 dollars in credit towards another game depending on the promotion, they don't charge tax, and most of the time it's like 57.99 or 54.99, so for me amazon saves a ton of money. I can usually get new release 15-25 dollars cheaper than another store. I went through a phase where I bought 20 or so used games that would've cost an arm and a leg at GS or any other store, but I got them dirt cheap at Amazon.

Also, in terms of their trade-in place, you can see how much everything you want to trade is worth before you ship it, so that is nice if you can wait the week it takes for them to receive and add the gift card to your account.

This should become the first (and only) thread to be stickied in the Non-Sports Gaming forum. It would be a great way to be able to always just keep up with the current deals without a new thread always being created.

                          Yep that would be cool.

I love the Gamestop Powerup rewards program as I've had probably 200+ in savings just from the coupons since January. It's well worth it if you do it and get over the "Gamestop sucks" mentality. I've yet had any impolite employees and like I said earlier I've gotten some pretty nice "deals" / perks from the guys/gals here.

Currently I have a total of 35.00 in coupons I haven't used(bought with points) yet. I'm waiting until I get to the 50.00 + stage then I'll grab whatever new game that comes out I want.

GS: Well, if you buy games the rewards add up... yada yada yada.
                              Me: nah, that's alright.
GS: (20 minutes after I asked for DA2) Ok, here you go... have a good day.

That is just standard retail stuff. They have to say that stuff or they will get written up by their manager. It is like that at damn near every retail store. Everytime I go to Best Buy, Walmart or Kmart they always asking me if I want their store credit card, do I want to pre-order a game , join their store rewards club or want their store warranty.

I remember when I worked in retail I got written up by the store co-manager for not asking customers those things. Hell they even called me into the office and threaten to fire me over that BS for not promoting store stuff.

Yeah, but I'm currently an Amazon stan.
