^ That may be true, but it also might be the same as cancelling. I know some stores only hold onto your reserved copy for so long before releasing it for the public, which makes me assume they also would cancel the pre-order (possibly nullifying the promotion) and refund your money. I know in-store pickup is done that way. Perhaps pre-orders have a different system entirely.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60 -

You pre-order a game for $1 and then receive 30% a purchase. If you pre-order COD which comes out in November and then pick up say Crash Bandicoot and get 30% off, when November rolls around and you don't pick up COD, they aren't going to then send you an invoice for the money saved on Crash Bandicoot.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

How do they nullify the promotion?

Say I go after a B2G1F deal at Best Buy, and I order everything online (let's ignore GCU and taxes). Two games will be listed at $60, and one game will be $0. Now let's say I mark two items to ship (one of them being the free game) and one to pick up in-store. The two items ship to me, and I choose to not pick up the third item. Maybe two weeks later or so, they would cancel that item.
Now, do you believe that I will be able to keep those two games for only $60 total? Or do you think that after they cancel the other item, they will hike up my free game's price to $60 and charge me a total of $120? If it's the former, I'm going to take advantage of that more often... but I believe that the latter would happen.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I don't know if that's true or not. Here's another example:

If you order online you pay in advance so they would already have the $120 for the two games. So whether you pick up the other game or not wouldn't matter.
If you go into the store in your scenario you would pay the $120 for the two games. If you try to return one of the games you paid for to get your $60 back, they will make you bring in all 3 games and basically "void" the entire transaction, and start over.

Re: Official Gaming Deals Thread
I'm sure they won't refund a game that's part of a B2G1F promotion.
But the discussion on that is moot because when you buy online you pay for merchandise before they ship or allow store pickup

Re: Official Gaming Deals Thread
Anyone else teed off at Amazon's policy of no longer offering up physical (disc) copies of new releases? The only way to pre-order games (Madden, Ark Survival, etc.) is digital only. Those games are full price, even as a Prime member. Prime members get 20% off on physical copies.
I e-mailed Amazon and complained about this a few weeks ago and they assured me this was a mistake that would be remedied. Nothing changed. A second e-mail sent a couple of days again went unanswered. So now I am gonna have to re-up with Best Buy's gamer club if I want my usual 20% off, which is gonna cost me an additional $30 to join. Very dissatisfied with Amazon now.

Re: Official Gaming Deals Thread
I believe some physical games are still offered for the 20% pre order. But not all of them. Appears all EA games are no longer offered, but I believe Far Cry 5 is still one of them being offered. Unless that changed since earlier this week

Re: Official Gaming Deals Thread
It's ridiculous. Seems like they simply don't want to offer the 20% off deal anymore on the vast majority of games. I think the original reaction to make the games 20% off in the first place was in response to the Best Buy Gamers Club.
