It's worth $60 imo so, yes.

I cannot agree more. If you played old Doom on your family's first PC you'll love this, if you're a newcomer to the series but like run and gun fps I bet you'll enjoy it as well.

Homefront The Revolution is $1.99 used at Redbox. I've heard the game isn't all that great, but for 2 bucks why not.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

So if you have GCU from Best Buy already, it's a no-brainer. Not to mention some of their pre-order titles give an additional $10 off.

You don't have to buy 2 of them. You can preordered for 1 dollar and buy a game at that time for 30% off.

Are you suggesting that you can then cancel the pre-order at anytime afterward and still maintain the 30% off for that game?

Because if not, then you're still purchasing the pre-ordered game for $60 when all is said and done.

Put it this way: say I pre-ordered Madden NFL 18 by putting down $1, and at the same time I want to purchase Tekken 7 for 30% off (so $42 total). I spend $43 on that day, tax not included. Later, when I pick up Madden after its release, I pay the rest in full for $59 more. For these two games, I have spent a grand total of $102.

Now let's do the same thing at Best Buy. Let's purchase Tekken 7 and Madden NFL 18 at any point now or earlier, and let's get 20% off both of those games. They will each be at $48, which means you're only spending $96. However, if you consider that Madden NFL 18 is on their pre-order list, you can get another $10 off (it's actually a rewards certificate) and only have to pay $38. That means you are only spending $86. Or of course, you can ignore one of the games completely and simply get Madden for $38 or Tekken for $48 alone if you so prefer.

If you only want to get one game at Target, you are spending $60 by the time you pick the game up, no matter which way you look at it.

                        Am I missing something, here?

Yes you can cancel and no I'm not comparing the GCU discounts to this. I have GCU but this is just another deal out there.... Unless I'm lost and in the Best Buy Gamers Club thread.

Okay, then that's a different story. Most places nullify deals once you do something like that.

Makes me wonder if I can do it in one trip:

"Hi, I'd like to pre-order Madden for $1 and purchase Tekken 7 for 30% off per your promotion."
                            "Okay, that'll be $43 dollars."
"Thanks. Oh, cancel that Madden pre-order."
                            "Okay, you'll get $1 back."
                            "Thanks. Bye!"

Something tells me I'd have to make two different trips, or at least see two different reps.

... and no I'm not comparing the GCU discounts to this. I have GCU but this is just another deal out there.... Unless I'm lost and in the Best Buy Gamers Club thread.
I never once shamed you for posting an "inferior deal." I hope it didn't come off that way (by the way, I'm quoting that phrase because it's not necessarily inferior). I'm simply trying to keep the masses informed. I hope someone else would do that as well if I posted a deal for $10 off and somebody pointed out there's a way to get the same thing for $40 off, even if you'd have to complete some other services to make that happen.

Furthermore, I wish the GCU thread was simply for questions regarding GCU and not the deals themselves. I like coming into this thread for all deals, ones like yours and GCU-related ones included.

After reading the details, I don't think you ever get that $1 (plus tax) back.

If I'm reading it right, you're not even really canceling.

You're putting $1 down for a future game to get 30% off a current game. Then you never follow up to complete the purchase on the future game. You lose the $1, but get $18 off (if it's the normal price) of the current game, so you come out $17 ahead.
