Nope you are not alone. I love this game and all of the Lego games. I originally bought them for my daughter and I to play together but I end up playing them more than she does.

The fiancee and I picked it up as well. Haven't had a chance to play yet, but I'm excited to!

I typically rent them, this one should be in my mail today. The only one I haven't played is Harry Potter.

I was waiting on reviews for this, and they've been, as expected, not favorable.
I know it's the same LEGO formula, but do you get a sense that you're playing a "pirate" game? My son loves pirates, so I'm looking for some impressions...

            IGN Review:

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean is an absolute blast for fans of either franchise. Its gameplay is simple to learn and incredibly addicting. You'll no doubt spend dozens of hours trying to collect everything you can, and the fact that all four movies are present keeps the pacing of the game from dragging too much. You'll find yourself reliving many classic moments in short order. Musically the game is spectacular as it features many of Hans Zimmer's best cues from the films, and while the characters are silent, they still manage to be quite expressive.

Considering my love for the Pirates trilogy, I feel obligated to check this out at some point.

How's Lego Jack Sparrow? Does he walk around like he's drunk?

Yes,yes he does. He can also slap people with a trout. Well anyone can. It's just more fitting he does.

Not really sure why the bad reviews, it's exactly what I expected from a Lego PotC.

That is part of the charm of the Lego games.

My son an I completed Lego Star Wars (Episode I-VI) as well as Batman. We have Indiana Jones and Harry Potter calling us right now.

I'll probably pick this up in the next few weeks. The only problem with the Lego games, in my opinion, is that I have to go through, unlock the stuff, get the stud rewards, etc. and THEN we can play together. Oh, and HP has the worst character unlocks of the bunch (having to find the tokens in each level...WHAT!?).

How so? Or is that just preference?

It's a pretty quick game to unlock everything, took me 12 hours to beat every stage, unlock every char and unlock all the red hats (hats instead of bricks).
