    Re: Far Cry 3

Man just had a funny moment. I was hunting for some goat skin when I ran out of ammo so I threw out some C4 at a leopard who decided to attack me. I killed the leopard, but proceeded to set myself on fire when the grass the C4 blew up in went up in flames.

Played a few rounds of TDM last night...and I gotta say,it wasn't bad at all. While it did take a few times to get into a room, once in though, the gameplay was pretty good(imo)

The maps are pretty well designed, with plenty of flanking routes,I also like the "weighty" feel of your character...kinda reminds me of BF3.

The hit detection felt really nice, and there's no greater feeling than getting that knife kill. I didn't feel that any of the guns were OP,as I was in rooms with guys that were ranked way higher than I was,and didn't feel that they had an obvious advantage due to having better weapons.

I'm not sure what kind of longevity the MP will have, but with the editor who knows....but with the strong SP and throw in a fun MP,I can't help to think this is the most rounded game I have played in quite some time.

Totally agree, this game is a great example of not doing anything crazy in terms of never before seen features but really nailing the features they did do. I can see the inspiration from Skyrim, RDR, Assassins creed, all blended together with a modern setting. This game really feels like the best FPSer I ever played.

The weighty feeling is my only gripe actually. It's nothing like BF to me. BF3 has a weight to it, but not like this. I feel sluggish sometimes. I've upped the sensitivity a bit to try and compensate which isn't so bad now. Overall, really enjoy the MP.

I can see why you would say that...I only mentioned BF3 because this game doesn't have that "floaty" feeling to it.

I'm pretty sure when I made a map with AI in it I saved it and played it offline. Idk though, will look.

Also just pissed myself over a Gator grabbing me earlier.

I think you guys have convinced into buying this. I get off work in an hour. I have a company christmas party tonight but tomorrow is wide open. I still haven't completed RDR, and I haven't bought BO2 (not into the zombie thing) but this looks like fun.

Damn this game looks stunning on PC.

Haven't been playing much on the PC other than Minecraft and indie titles recently so it's a real shock coming from the 360 for the majority of AAA titles recently.

Really compelling gameplay experience so far. I love how vulnerable you feel at the start. I find myself staying away from the roads, and sneaking through the wilderness between objectives and destinations.

Unfortunately sneaking through the wilderness will get you mauled by a tiger in this game. I do love that I feel vulnerable with hardly any ammo when I leave a safe zone. It's a great change up to the games that you feel like you can take on the world right away. I mean i felt like a badass using every last bit of my ammo to take out two jeeps full of bad guys only to turn around head into the wilderness and be killed by a tiger.

Just started playing this game a couple of hours ago and I find myself super impressed so far. This wasn't even on my radar until last week, so this has been a pleasant surprise. On the 360 it's a very nice looking game, so I can only imagine on the PC. The story seems solid and there's quite a bit of other stuff that you can do. I really didn't need another game to play, but I'm glad I checked this one out.

No doubt man, I know exactly what you mean. I've definitely been avoiding any conflicts with more than a couple of enemies. I ran across a jeep full of bad guys a few minutes ago and when they spotted me I jumped in the water and swam across the lake like a punk. I just wasn't built for that battle lol.

Really wish I would have shipped back WWE13 sooner to Gamefly to get this. As of right now, they still haven't even received my copy of WWE, and i'm sure once they do, it will take a bit to get Far Cry 3 since it just came out.

REALLY looking forward to this one. Like you said Pappy, this wasn't even on my radar until a day or two before release when I started reading reviews.

I loved this game but it was too easy even on the hardest difficulty. Radio tower unlock giving you free weapons made it too easy for me to fill up ammo with surplus of cash you can find. Radio tower unlock also makes it easy for you to find root boxes hence surplus of cash. I recommend you to not unscramble radio towers if you want added challenge.

Climbing the tower (which is never guarded by enemies) doesn't give you any challenge anyway.

From everything I've read on UBI, the sandbox mode with bots is just the editor. Plenty of people complaining about it.

100% disagree. I've been to a couple of towers in which I had to kill infantry as well as vehicle guards patrolling the area.
