All I've got to say is DAMN HACKERS and DAMN MICROSOFT AND THEIR SECURITY HOLES!

BTW, anybody know where I can take a look at this source?

you could probably benefit from reading some of that.

Cool game pics (I checked out the site through your avatar's properties ). Reminds me of the simplistic GBA game a group I was in created. That was single player blow up other cars, but similar in concept. It's definitely a lot tougher than you'd think to create a game, especially if you're working with something pretty undocumented, like the gameboy advance.

Thanks, it was from a ten-week course at our university where six of us (though it turned out to be four since two of the guys wrote ZERO lines of code, making things tough) were supposed to basically make any game we wanted as long as it was 3-D, realtime, and networked for up to four players for the demo. You didnt happen to watch that demo video that I was in, did you? I was so nervous because it was a lecture hall full of 350 people including professors (some of my past ones), grad students, and actual developers from Rockstar Games. It turned out bad though because they promised us that we would have the same hardware at the demo that we had in the lab when developing, but that didnt happen because the stupid ACS (Academic Computing Services) department gave us 10 Mbit hubs instead of 100Mbit ones. It turned out a bit choppy (and thus somewhat unplayable) but no one really noticed except all the group members. Since then, Ive fixed up the game a lot and itll probably work smoothly on those 10Mbits now.

I didn't see the demo video, I'll download it at home...My course was a 1 semester 'major project' class, where we had to document the whole life cycle of the project. I also had another project class where we were streaming audio across a LAN, so I understand how that bandwidth cut would hurt. The projects are the most fun, cause you actually see a final product, rather than just a bunch of mini programming assignments.

As soon as a company tried to sell a game using the pirated source code, Valve could just sue the f#$k out of them. I mean it wouldn't stop people from making their own homemade games but they couldn't sell them. And whats the point of making a game if you can't profit.

<---- Check the avatar like mgoblue did. That is a screenshot from a video game that I did a great deal of development on.

If you are someone like me, it is absolutely vital to have a demo. About half the game companies out there ask for some type of game demo when applying for an entry-level job at their company as a programmer or artist. It is a proof of some experience.
