Nope, it's not out now in the US. VF5 FS won't be available for download on Xbox Live and PSN until this summer. Many speculate sometime in August.

VF5FS will also be at the Final Round XV Tournament in Atlanta in early March. A playable demo version of the game is supposed to be on display there.

For Goh fans, check out some of his new follow-up moves from Tsukami (choke move) that are in FS. Watch for it at the 0:33-0:40 segment. Brutal!

Also peep his new half-fence wall throw that was done twice in the match below. The first is during the 0:47-0:52 span and the second time is during the 1:56-2:01 span.

The lead developers of the Virtua Fighter series at Sega AM2, Makoto Osaki and Daichi Katagiri, talk about a few topics covering the history of the franchise. This is the first of what's supposed to be a series of planned video trailers put together leading up to the release of VF5FS for consoles.

A four-hour video stream covering the entire tournament has been archived and moved to the link below. Thanks to Sega, Southtown Arcade and IPlaywinner for organizing and running this event. Shout out to all the players at STA for putting on a good show, and also to everyone who watched online and kicked it in the chat room.

Re: Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown announced for consoles!

Gamespot has recently shown an On The Spot interview segment with Patrick Riley, a producer of the console version of VF5 Final Showdown.

The VF5FS portion of the interview starts around the 39-minute mark of the broadcast while actual footage of the console version is running.

The Clifff Notes version of this interview goes as follows:
                  * Tutorial and Training Modes reminiscient of the critically-acclaimed modes in VF4: Evolution
                  * 8-member online lobbies with Spectator Mode
                  * Over 10,000 customizable items available via DLC

The official website for the console version of VF5FS has been launched which reveals more details and shows new screenshot images.

                    VF5FS official site

                    Customizable Costumes
Because VF5FS is close to the maximum size allowed for DLC games, all items other than the defaults are not included in the game and are sold as DLC. Items will be sold separately and in packs.

                    Button Configuration
You can set up the controller at the character select screen, and there's also a "button check" option too so you can check to make sure your buttons are properly configured and working!

Re: Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown announced for consoles!

As some of you may already know, Final Round XV is underway in Atlanta for this weekend.

Despite not having an official tourney held for the game like a few other fighting games at the scene, a side exhibition is still being ran on two console setups of VF5FS (one on Xbox 360; the other on PS3). A live stream will cover the event at Team Spooky's TwitchTV account which begins at 8:30pm ET.

Edit: Video footage covering Saturday's exhibition is shown below.

Looks like Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown will be featured in different tournaments on the next two weekends in San Francisco.

For next weekend VF5FS will be present at the NorCal Regionals which takes place at Jack Adams Hall.

                        Nor Cal Regionals

And on the following weekend the game will be featured in a tournament at South Town Arcade for the second of five planned trips here this year leading up to the console release.

IPlaywinner's YouTube channel has several videos uploaded covering VF5FS tournament Top 8 matches from the NorCal Regionals last weekend. This matchup is one of my favorites of that day:
