I personally voted the third option. The game does not seem to have the same hype as previous titles, and I'm not so sure they made much in the way of upgrades this year. You also have to take into account BF3--even if they are different styles, they share the same genre, and I think for a lot of people (myself included) it seems unnecessary to have both. In that context, I imagine BF3 pulls quite a few sales away from MW3.

Whether BF3 outsells MW3, well that I cannot predict. I feel like Battlefield has gotten a lot more attention this year. I think it may also be the more anticipated release (it feels like something new).

However, there is a two-week gap between releases of the games, so there is also a possibility of those unhappy with BF3 trading their game in for MW3. That won't have an effect on BF3's front-end sales, but it would inflate the MW3 sales. I would be curious to know which of the two has had more preorders as I think that plays into the "hype" and anticipation factor of a game.

Well the number are in, and I was wrong along with 6 others , so Im not alone.

MW3 sold 9.3 million on day 1, which outsold both MW2 (6M) and Black Ops (7M).

Wow that is crazy!

HTF you sell 9.3 million in one day??????

Next year will they sell over 10 million???? Right now I wont be shocked if it does.

Treyarch will defintely bring new things to the table. This is simply INSANE!

That's surprising to me, because I didn't buy it, nor did a bunch of my friends. I feel like the giant bomb review where it basically says, nothing has captured the magic since cod4. MW2 was easily my least fav,...so I'm not sure I'll get this one AT ALL. Skyrim tonight or tomorrow will own me for a long time..and if I want to mix it up I have bf3 (which i'm not in love with) forza and other games I've neglected.

Right now you cant go wrong with all the good titles out there.

Im really liking what they did in MW3. They got rid of the annoying perks and overdone killstreaks.

The game defintely feels more like COD4 with more gun on gun play.
No more Cammondo or one man army really is a huge plus.

The survival mode is tons of fun, and if Zombie mode was done this way it would be better for me.

They also offerd two new mutiplyer modes. Kill confirmed and Defender. These two modes make team play a must to win. Something many wanted in the multiplayer modes.

At first I was not to excited about MW3, but got excited as the release date came closer. Now im very happy I picked it up.
