This game is pretty awesome. I just got to Pittsburgh and shut it off. I don't want to finish the game too quickly.

I'm a sucker for Naughty Dog but they hit this one out of the park. Just an overall fun experience.

I've got a really stupid question, this game auto saves but I dont see an icon on screen to tell me its saving, am I missing it or is there another way to tell a game has been saved before turning it off?

I've noticed that too but I read they had a problem with auto saves that they said they fixed with the patch. It might be best to manually save.

Only time I see an auto save is if I click on save game, then it auto saves before giving me the option to save again, not sure if thats how they envisioned it but thats not really an actual auto save since I basically have to force it to save anyways.

The only thing you need a code for is the multiplayer portion,if you have no interest, then no code is needed.
This game did have a demo....if you had GOW ascension, you had access to the demo.
In my case,I didn't have GOW,so I went to redbox and used the GOW disc to get access.

The Rev3 games review I watched with Adam Sessler,he said it took him roughly 18+ hours.
I'm sure the game can be completed sooner if you don't explore, and rush through.

It was fixed, but not through a patch though.......

                  Hi all,

Just starting a new thread to make sure everyone sees this update.

The autosave issue some of you have been encountering has been investigated thoroughly. We have determined that the cause had to do with a server we were using to capture player stats, which is why playing offline may have alleviated the issue for some players. We have addressed the issue with the server.

All you need to do is quit any current playthrough of The Last of Us all the way out to the XMB, and then restart the game.

Existing save files are okay. Both single-player and multiplayer are okay to play. I.E. you play online in any mode.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

I believe when you pause the game it will say when it was last saved. For instance it will say 1 minute ago.

Well it says that next to restart encounter, is that the actual save that was made? I dont think it is because if I click on save game then it says auto save is in progress and to wait, when that finishes then it lets me save again either over that file or in another slot but that time shown doesnt change.

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)

I think it continuously streams to the autosave file, so when you go to save manually it has to close the file. That's also why it has no autosave icon, since it's always saving even if it doesn't finish when you cut it off, the file was always save a minute ago so that lost save doesn't matter.

I don't know, I turned the game off once (to eat dinner) since I started this morning and manually saved before I did. I didn't bother to look at the manual, is there anything in there about autosaves?

I wish I could answer that but I got it from Gamefly so no manual here to look at it but I would be curious to know as something got screwed up anyways and didnt record one of the optional conversations I did early on.

like someone said before, the game automatically saves after every encounter. whether its cutscenes or clearing an area of zombies or humans. thats why everytime you press pause it always says "1 minute ago".

there is nothing in game to show you that it saves but it does. i always manually save my game before i cut it off. but i do that with any game.

Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

Time for Blzer's "why I don't yet have The Last of Us" rant.

Let's say there exist three cities, all along the same freeway:

                              Sunnyvale <---20 mi---> San Carlos <---10 mi---> San Mateo

I live in San Mateo and pre-ordered my game in San Carlos (on December 2nd, mind you).

So I'm at Sunnyvale all day, and start my 30 mile drive home to San Mateo. I figured gee, this might be a great time to go pick up my pre-order from San Carlos (which is right along the way). It's 8:00 PM and I have time to make it before the store closes.

I get there and show my receipt. They take ten minutes to do some stuff, and finally tell me that they don't have any copies there. Their computer shows they should have three more, but of course they can't find them. They do one last check and spend another five minutes doing that. They finally say that they officially don't have any physical copies of the game despite my pre-order, and said they would call the Sunnyvale store to see if they have any copies. Turns out they have one copy left, but the problem is that the time is now 8:45 and their store closes at 9:00. So now they say that they can reserve that copy of mine, but only for one day.

So now tomorrow, I have to make a thirty mile drive back to exactly where I was just to pick up a copy of a game that I reserved six months before it came out. Not only that, but now this won't officially be considered a pre-order, so I wonder if I can weasel my way back into getting the $20 RZ GC unlocked gift certificate that I'm supposed to get with this game. If not, that's really going to set me off.

Oh well, time to finish Tomb Raider I guess.
