Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
i finished this game the other day and i must say wow. i really enjoyed the story and the overall single player experience. This was one of those games that my fiancee would just sit and watch me play trying to help me get through certain parts.I would say this is the best game ive probably played on this gen in regards to single player. well done to naughty dog and it makes me more impatient to see what will come on the next gen systems..

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
I bought the game on release day and played for a few hours. I just had some time this morning to "continue" playing. However, thanks to the auto-save glitch which I didn't know about at the time, I'm back to the very beginning.
Somehow this has sapped 99% of my desire to play the game.Comment

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
Just started a playthrough on Survivor mode however,so I'm expecting to take a little while longer.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
Finished the game last night and I can say without hesitation that it is the best game I have played this generation. It's a story that I will always remember, and you can't say that about too many games.
BTW, smoke bombs + the axe = pure carnage. My favourite way to clear rooms.
SpoilerWhat's everyone's opinion on whether or not Ellie actually believes Joel's final lie? I think it's pretty clear from her expression and the way she says, "Okay," that she isn't quite convinced, which makes her complicit in the lie. It gives her sort of a way out, I guess. Also, at the end of the day I would have made the exact same decision Joel did. It didn't seem like the surgery on Ellie was a sure thing. IMO producing a cure would still have been a long shot.Comment

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
I just finished it early this morning after getting it this friday, and all I can say is Holy ****. Absolutely amazing. I don't know if a game can get me that sucked into the storyline like this. After the intro, I already thought the 10 out of 10s it got were justified, and everything else was just icing on it. (I'm not even really emotional about a lot of things, but this game was something that got me really feeling about it, one of the few things that do, let alone a damn video game.)
That wasn't even the most emotional part for me, it was
Spoilerthe part where Joel was spiked and Ellie said "Tell me what to do".That hit me, reminding me she's only a 14 year old girl, and had to do some quick growing up. (Also, Ellie gave me a real Katniss Everdeen vibe of a teenage girl that has to manage to grow up and survive quicker than she should.)
Another moment was
Spoilerwhen he's carrying her out of the operating room, I had an instant flashback to the beginning where he's carrying his daughter through the streets. Hit me hard.
Regarding the ending
SpoilerAt first, I thought she believed what he said, but reflecting on the ending, and realizing she's become so much more aware of things in the world, I think she knows he's lying but just needs someone to lie to her to make her feel alright, because she couldn't lie to herself about it. Like in movies when the parents tell their kids "Everything's going to be alright" even if they know it won't. As the saying goes, Ignorance is Bliss.
For anyone with a PS3, this is an absolute must play. Just wow. That's what I was saying throughout the game was wow. (And I was kinda behind following everything, I didn't even really start following it until a couple of weeks ago, and didn't get it until a spontaneous moment this week that I felt like I was missing out on.)
Sorry if I'm rambling, but really all that needs to be said is Holy ****. Easily 10/10 and GOTY. Play it. So. Worth. It.Last edited by wesman94; 06-23-2013, 08:50 PM.MLB: Seattle Mariners
