Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
Am i crazy for not wanting to play SP again? Sure I missed some things, but part of why the game was great was that it always had me on the edge of my seat and never knew what to expect. I feel if I played it again, it just wouldn't be the same. I already know where everyone is at, the story etc. Part of the magic on the first play through was the unknown.Comment

I was pretty nervous about starting it up again myself. But once I did, it's actually very special but in a different way.
I upped the difficulty from Normal to Hard - for one, and love how I'm actually having to conserve my supplies and make wise combat/scavenging choices.
I'm also getting through the combat much faster because I am better at the game which is allowing me to really immerse myself into the story (10 straight deaths has a way of killing the effect of appreciating the subtle details).
My first play though took me so long that the second time around jump scares are still startling me and the dialogue is so well acted and written that it's a real joy experiencing it again.
I think if you wait a few months you won't regret taking another ride.
I'm more concerned about how this game is pulling me away from The Show like no other title ever has! My Yankees need me but they may have to wait another week for the day-to-day operations to commence. Ellie and I need to take another look aroundSpoilerBill's porn den.
What? I'm on Hard now. I need the ammo.Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 06-27-2013, 01:08 PM.Comment

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
I was expecting to get our butts whooped, but thankfully that wasn't the case...lol
That last match on high school was crazy though....all hunkered up in the library and waiting it out...that was a nice win we had there...People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

There is no listen mode, items are VERY scarce, and they also don't "glow" from 10 miles away....so if forces you to really scour your surroundings for supplies.
While I understand the "magic" of the first playthrough....I liken it to a movie I watched for the first time...some points you get at first, but some you're like "wth"?
So playing through again is really causing me to pay even more attention and look even harder for clues to maybe get a better understanding.
Not having listen mode has been tough also,I relied alot on it during my first playthrough, but this way....it really takes patience and the need to use bottles and bricks has upped 10 fold.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Curious which clan did you guys choose? Hunters or fireflys?
Won't that affect if we can play together? I want to get some games in tonight possibly after the draft.Comment

It doesn't affect whether or not we can play together...as we were on the same team all night.Last edited by Kramer5150; 06-27-2013, 07:44 PM.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

That is good to know. I was wondering about that as well. I started out as Firefly, now I am a hunter.Comment

Naughty Dog's inspired environments for The Last of Us wowed us in our review, but its impressive little details just keep getting the developer in trouble. First it was an unofficial Boston transit system map used without permission, now it's phone numbers on a fake pest control poster which actually belong to a phone sex line and Bahamas cruise contest.
Naughty Dog told Kotaku that the live numbers---800-555-2545 and 800-555-6784 if you're curious, and yes, we did call them ourselves--were a simple misunderstanding on an artist's part.
"What happened was, they put some phone numbers in the game and then they thought they could just change the area code to 555, then it's invalid because it's what they do in movies," creative director Neil Druckmann said. "But I guess that doesn't work when you have a 1-800 in front of it."
Naughty Dog is now working to remove the not-so-fake numbers from the game. It's kind of a shame for main character Joel, the apocalypse does get awfully lonely...

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
How do you guys approach rooms full of Humans or Infected? I want to search the room high and low so I can find all the items, but that seems pretty tough unless you kill everyone. I try the stealth approach as long as I can.Comment
