Thanks. Tomb Raider was my favorite game of the year up to this point, but The Last of Us just might be my game of the generation. Such an amazing adventure.

I'd give TLoU the nod, but TR isn't far behind. Both are fantastic games.

This game is definitely in my Top Three for this generation, up there with UC2 and Heavy Rain. It's hard for me to put my top three in order because they're all so different, but I guess you can say I have a type when it comes to favorite games (ie. mostly linear).

I'm a little depressed now that the journey is over. With that said I can't wait to see what ND has in store for us next gen.

We have similar taste in style of games. I tend to prefer linear titles with a heavy emphasis on story. I never finished Uncharted 2, but I absolutely loved Heavy Rain and played through that several times. That's definitely a contender for game of the generation also. I've still got a ton of love for Tomb Raider too, but I feel like TLOU just edges it out a bit. The story just had more of an impact on me.

Anyway to punch without using your melee weapon? I wish it had to be selected. I'll craft extra on my melee weapon and then I can't punch but instead have to lose my weapon.

I played the multiplayer for the first time tonight with some other OSers and what a blast it was. It is definitely different than anything i have ever played. It takes a while to figure out, but all the crafting and parts aspects of the single player carry over. The tension and brutality of the single player are there as well.

Just finished this up last night.

Absolutley Brilliant!!

Hands down one of, if not the best, games I have ever played. I was completely drained and just say there for like 15 minutes thinking about my time in the game. I personally loved the ending.

I'm about 60% of the way thru.
I'm still amazed at how realistic the sound is in this game. When you are walking thru a tunnel while it's raining outside, it sounds exactly like that.
Might be a small thing to some people, but wow, that makes me feel like I'm right there with Ellie .

As for DLC:

Multiplayer:
Some form of the multiplayer they got now with "Dynamic Infected' in the map as well. You could use bottles, etc to lure the infected into enemy players. Would make for some fun experiences.

As for campaign I have a very fleshed out idea that I want to see how you guys like however I will put it in Spoilers while the others really arent spoiler related.

I like some of the peoples idea about

He was one of the only consistent people in the game you read about due to notes. Maybe start out with

him getting to the boat then play through the events that you read the letters to.

Another idea was for you to play as maybe a military team right as the outbreak first happened. Could open the door for some of the Co-Op some people have been wanting and tell the back story to what happened with the government, Quarantine zones, etc...Could fill in a lot of the blanks about the outbreak itself.

Heres the idea that I really like. (Warning if you havent beaten the game do not read the below spoiler)

Start maybe about a year after the end of the game with Ellie and Joel doing stuff around the safe area then that night/day Ellie asks Joel about his past and what happened in the 20 years when the outbreak happened to when Joel met Ellie. Joel finally gives in and finally tells Ellie what happened, maybe even his brother joins in as well to help fill in the blanks. The game then takes you back to when your daughter got shot and you and your brother play from there. Show the progression of this working family man Joel into the Joel we all know today. You also see some back story about Joels brother and learn more about him at the same time, maybe even play as him with Joel being the AI character. However have that only happen in "chapters/flashbacks" and after you tell that part return back to Joel and Ellie in the safe zone. Then you play as present Joel and Ellie doing stuff like scavenging for supplies, Killing infected/hunters/bandits that attack/get to close to the area, maybe have the Fireflies try to get Ellie back and work that into the "present day" story part. Then that night/day Joel or his brother basically goes from where he left off from the night/day before and continues.

This does a lot of things:
1. It allows fans of Ellie some more time to play with her character there and give her even more backstory/history. Maybe show her still concerned with her "condition" and so on.
2. Gives you a chance to learn about more Tommy and the "Nightmares" (As he calls them) he went through to survive with Joel.
3. Gives another way to see the transition of the world from a bustling piece of society to the nightmarish hell it turned into.

Well those are my idea, what do you guys think?

I'd honestly prefer to never play as Joel or Ellie ever again outside of prequal/gap filling/side story DLC related content. In my opinion their adventure should end at Tommy's camp.

The Ellie and Joel tale was perfect and whole in its own right. Perhaps in a few weeks I'll have a change of heart but at this moment, it feels right to just leave them alone and let my imagination have at it.

Thinking about single player DLC

So much of what I come up with, I immediately find myself not wanting it. For instance, I thought it would be cool to show the brother with the fireflies and subsequently leaving, but then I really didn't want that. I don't want anything to change the perspective of Joel's decision. I don't want to play as the brother, find out that the fireflies were corrupt, that they were brash and made faulty decisions, that they were more organized and more with it than they appeared, or that they were nothing more than a cacophony of freedom fighters who didn't know their *** from a whole in the ground, etc. I don't want to know why Tommy left the fireflies, I don't want them to try and make Joel's decision any easier, or correct/wrong, in hindsight. Eventually I'm sure the subject of a cure will have to come up, it'd be nice if it wasn't so quick. What I really don't want is something that makes me think "see, the fireflies were idiots, Joel was right in not letting those asshats butcher Ellie".

Maybe have it be about Joel and Tess?

As much as I loved Joels/Ellie story I wouldnt mind at all playing with them again at all. Even if they dont have anything to do with the present story just showing Tommy and Joels story from the time of his daughters death to his run in with Ellie would be wonderful.
