So I just finished the game.

14 hours
74 collectibles
57 deaths (though it felt like 570)

So I started up at the point where Ellie was imprisoned by David, then I woke up as Joel. My first thought: THERE WILL BE BLOOD and there was. I thought the series of events leading to getting Ellie back, including her stabbing David in the bar, was fantastic.

The final tunnel of zombies before the hospital, I did my best to sneak around and not kill anything. But once I got in the hospital I said **** it and went full Rambo. I actually was expecting more guys at the end right before you enter surgery...that is until I realized that I literally expended all my ammo except for 17 bullets for the assault rifle.

The ending...I thought it was awesome. As I walked around the surgery room slaughtering these poor doctors I knew Joel had gone past the point of no return. That was a powerful part. Then the end, when he lies to Ellie about what he said, and what happened with the Fireflies. I sat there during the credits and just pondered what happened. It wasn't a big twist, or huge shocker of an ending. No, it was exactly the type of ending the game needed. Small, but potent.

Overall I loved the game. I purposely put off multiplayer so I wouldn't accidentally be spoiled on anything in the story. Now I can go enjoy multiplayer in peace.

Felt like it left a lot of things unanswered. I totally understand the dynamic of it, the parallel between the opening sequence and carrying Elle out of the hospital. Showing Joel as a human for being selfish and extracting Elle from Firefly capture and to prevent the surgery from occurring for his own personal benefit to fill a void in his life, but I was expecting more. Possibly a twist on what the infection was or how Elle managed to survive the infection etc. It just ended and I felt like the closer you got to the end, you could see this coming from a mile away.

I'm sure they are leaving an open ending with many unanswered questions for them to expound on it via DLC and/or future titles. Also not to mention many more scenarios could play out with Ellie and Joel which would seem likely to come about in the form of DLC.


The story as far as the infected go is far from over IMO and Naughty Dog will find some way to extend this story all they way from the point where a glimmer of hope(vacines and medical/technological advances) turns into a new bright day where the infected are eventually are rid of in the world and everything will begin to start a new.


I can even see them taking this to another location in the world where even further in the future where the talk of ones who were immune are talked about as a legend and its just an all-out war against the infected at this point where new forms of infected will sprout(over time they change ie: bloaters) and push humans to the brink of extinction and force humans to ban together(for the most part...just overall bad people and even defected humans who side with the infected ) to fight.


This is just basically my over active imagination and firm belief that ND will stretch this story out further and will grant us an ending worthy of this franchise.

Ok....FINALLY completed the game.

(I've had the game since launch but I was milkin' it, due to the fact I didn't want the game to end...sadly enough, it did.)

*Played game on HARD (loved how scrappy you have to be with every single shot...scavenging for ammo is fun on this difficulty.)

*Finished in 28.58:02 (When it comes to single player games I REALLY take my time to enjoy the graphical nature of the game, etc, etc...milked it).

*Found 99/141 collectibles (Wow, I thought I was doing pretty darn good at collecting everything but I missed soo much...can't believe it!)

Found the ending somewhat satisfying...hoping this leaves an open-ended sequel on next-gen consoles...can you imagine??

All in all, I was excited to play this game for so long and it DID NOT disappoint...I wouldn't change a thing...except for the fact I wish it never ended....FUN, FUN, FUN!!
