I have no experience with these types of games, but I purchased Skyrim on a whim and am certainly enjoying it. For best game, however, I have to go with Wing Commander.

I loved that game.....on my 286!!!(I'm not being sarcastic either.....just goes to show it's not all glitz and power that is necessary to make great games.)

Re: Skyrim: best game ever made?
Final Fantasy 7 is still my favorite game of all time.
I haven't given Skyrim much time, because I only played my buddy's copy. I may change my mind in the future, but for now I just don't have the time to play it.. too busy having a blast with Battlefield 3.Comment

You go on quests, you go exploring, you kill things with swords.
It's kind of tough to explain, I can just tell you that it's damn fun and comes with my highest recommendation.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Skyrim: best game ever made?
Lol, no. I love the game, but GOAT? Ehhhh I just can't do it man, I just can't do it.
The great thing about Skyrim, and Bethesda games in general is that there's so much to do. It' just a big sandbox for the most part, like the GTA games. The story isn't all that, and there is a lot to be desired in the combat mechanics. Not to mention all the bugs in it. It just doesn't have the completeness to it to get the GOAT nod from me.
As for what I'd place above it, man where to start. Both Mass Effects first off, MGS 2 and 3 and really, it'd just be too many to keep naming.
It's my favorite game out right now though.PS: You guys are great.

Honestly, I can't choose. Call of Duty 4 was unreal for me. Uncharted 3 is pretty good so far. Arkham City was pretty crazy. I don't think I'd make it the best game ever made.Comment

All good fella's I wasn't expecting for a second for everyone to agree with me, lots of good games being mentioned that's for sure. I LOVED ME2 but it felt more 'constrained' than skyrim and it's the freedom of the game that I love.
Goh if you say it's so easy to list games that are better and you'd be there all day making a list how about you just post three? Honestly curious as to what games you do find really good.Comment

Re: Skyrim: best game ever made?
It is one of the best I played in a long time. Definitely get your money's worth with this game. My second favorite would be Wing Commander 4.
To me Skyrim is what the Dragon Age series SUPPOSE TO have been.
Hate Mass Effect 1, but love Mass Effect 2.Comment

Believe me, I want it to be the greatest. It's certainly a significant improvement from Oblivion, which I thought was much worse than Morrowind. I love Bethesda and the games they create, and I'm sure that I will put 100+ hours into this game (already at 55). Possibly when I hit that point, I'll have noticed more of what makes it stand out above all others and put it as the GOAT. But I can't right now. A great story will always win out over a game with millions of things to do for me, and games like Uncharted, and Mass Effect had those things. Bethesda has to sacrifice the story in their game to allow a broad scope of things to do, which is perfectly fine, because they do a damn good job of that. However, that's the thing that puts it behind a couple other games for me in my greatest games list.Comment

Re: Skyrim: best game ever made?
Dragon Age: Origins is another game that I'd say is better than Skyrim, but I see where you're coming from with that. There wasn't enough freedom. The story was much better though imo, and the combat much much deeper. Your companions (even the dog to an extent) were all developed and it didn't have even a quarter of the bugs either.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Skyrim: best game ever made?
Games that come to mind for me are San Andreas, Arkham City, and Mass Effect 1 & 2.
I'd like to play Skyrim to see what all the insane hype is about, but games like that just aren't really for me.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.
