Meant to post this in the other Black Ops thread that was created but it looks like this is the right one. Anyways....

I could really care less about this game to be honest. Black Ops was an alright game and I thought they did do some interesting things with it but I'm just honestly tired of the same old, same old with this series.

I did get caught in the hype for MW3 and definitely got burned on that one. I ended up trading it in pretty quickly. It's biggest problem (other than the stale gameplay) to me was the same issue with Black Ops and that was that the maps just weren't that fun. They were either too small or had some kind of annoyance in them.

Now if they plan on giving us bigger and better maps, actually changing the knifing system, adding some type of cover system, destructible environments, or something that will actually freshen up a game that comes out every single year then I'll be a lot more interested. But at this point I just don't care.

Yes I think they need to take the genre more seriously, and give us a much more realistic shooter.

Where perks are not silly things to do. Perks should be replaced with attributes cards.

This way we can create our own soldier. They should educated us on the various types of military soldiers, and with leveling up we can unlock the attributes and gear for the soldier. Then we can create our own soldier.

Weapons should have the same damage on both regular and hardcore mode. The difference that should take place between the two modes is the radar and overlays that provide information.

There should be no proficiencies in the game. We should learn how to handle the weapon with its true attributes.

Kill streaks should just disappear, and in order to call in a airstrike you should have the solider on your team that has the authority to call for support, and that can only come when the team gathers enough kills for it, or it should be limited to one call per match. This way you have to use your support wisely.

Then before the match begins you have to decide what air support you want to bring into battle when needed.

The engine is so smooth for a first person shooter, but I would love to see COD become much more serious and realistic.

I want to see where who ever get shot at first has a huge disadvantage. I want to see where you cannot bring a knife into a gun fight. Where knife kills are performed due to stealth.

I can go on and on, but I think they really need to man this franchise up, and stop adding in all the silly perks and kill streaks.

^^^ Those sound like great changes! Not sure they can go from one extreme to the next though. I think there target audience is the casual gamer. Jump in and play right away theory. They also consistently sell well, so I can't see them switching directions like that. I just wish they wound make bigger maps, better bullet detection, and scrap the knifing.

I'm down with less ridiculous perks and no proficiencies. But overall I don't think I want the game to be as realistic as Tyrant does. Sports games are a perfect example of a genre that got too realistic and started to bore me to tears.

sven the way I look at it is , what else can they do now? It's going to get crazy with all of these perks and killstearks etc. Did you read all the things now with the knife alone? It's getting out of hand.

I feel now a more realisitc game would be great and a real change, and when the time comes that I want to play something more on the wild side. I can pop in any of the COD games from COD 4 till Black Ops 2.

That is 6 games with the same formula pretty much, so the choices are there. I think it is time for more realism.

With realsim you wont need stupid programming like lag comp, becaase if it is real you cant shoot back if your being shot in the body. The body can not coordiante itself, so if they make it this way it will make players really respect how shooting is suppose to be, and reward those you shot first. No lag comp needed.

Now COD franchise can really corner the market with a realistic brand , and more on the wild side brand. It is nice to have the choice to mix it up don't you think?

I'm actually excited for this!! I loved Battlefields 2142 and I have always wondered how CoD's version would look like. I haven't been excited for a CoD game since they left WWII to go modern. Now that it's in a future setting I'm back in!

It would take a real change of pace for me to purchase another COD game, this is not exactly what I was expecting.

I do like that story though, pretty realistic story for future warfare.

This looks unreal. I am pretty excited for this. In my opinion, Black Ops was the best COD game yet in terms of gameplay. This looks like it's set to take COD back over the top to the best shooter, even though I love Battlefield, COD is just too smooth. If they take some lessons from BF, I'm all in, once again.
